We live in central Oklahoma, my son is 14 years old, and we're looking for a short trip that would be fun for him and a friend. Any ideas? They like go karts but already have four wheelers and motorcycles. I was wondering about Dodge City, KS. Is there enough there to make two or three days of it?

This site: http://www.amcits.com/enter_canada.asp says "When entering Canada from the United States, U.S. citizens must show either a U.S. passport or other proof of U.S. citizenship - such as an original or certified birth certificate together with photo identification." The words "such as" indicate to me that other types of proof of citizenship are acceptable, but I'm having a hard time finding a definite answer. My family wants to take a weekend trip to Canada. Neither my husband nor I have a passport, I don't have my birth certificate, but we both have social security cards. Would the SSC be sufficient, or are we SOL and should plan a different Mother's Day weekend?

Open the biblical-era tombs that is and take DNA samples for comparison to that of the current crop of occupants of the Jewish Entity (Israel) and send those that don't belong there through ancestry (and most don't), home? I expect the world would rejoice at such a logical and fair solution to this never-ending dispute. We have the technology. We have it.

So my wife and I are planning a trip to L.A. sometime this summer. We will be arriving via the Sunset Limited at Union Station. Planning 4 nights in the area.

I have read the recent questions and answers on what to do, see, etc THANKS for some great info to you regulars!

We love architecture, film noir and classic Hollywood, museums, ethnic eats, flea markets and antique/junk shops, etc. Rose bowl flea market?

We plan on a day at Disney and Universal studios. We are daily walkers, 5 miles/day and could easily do 10-12 miles. I plan on getting a car, but would like suggestions on walking tours that don't take us through the ghetto...can we get a car at the train station?

Also, are there any interesting, historic or unique hotels, like restored boutique hotels, located in a good central area? I can budget $150-200 per night

We are not star watchers....I know this is sacriledge in L.A., but I have no interest whatsoever in seeing any famous people who are alive, LOL.

I thought so, but for this awnser I was given a thumbs down. In fact 5 other people chose Communism Peak as the BA. The person was using an outdated atlas.

Not only is that no longer the correct name, but it's in the independent nation-state of Tajikistan. Why do so many people continue to confuse the Russian Federation with the old USSR?

Just a couple of months ago sombody I met was shocked to learn that Russians do indeed celebrate Christmas or that they can worship in the Russian Orthodox faith (other faiths as well). Again old Soviet attitudes and a poor understanding of modern current events.
