do police really check your bags in times square for new years eve? how can they check everyone? can i get away with bringing a couple of beers in my coat or purse?

I have received the name of a number of hippie towns in Colorado from a previous question, but I'm not sure if I've found the ultimate place to live yet. Some of the towns named were Ward, Salida, Nederland, Ouray, Alma, Boulder, Crestone, Fairplay, Southpark, and Ft. Collins. Are there any more out there? The more affordable the housing the better. What would make one town better than another?

Hi, My wife and I are staying at the sofatel silom in Bangkok for New years eve. We are only there for 22 hours in total, flying onto Melbourne so a load of the options that would have been open to us we cannot do. Also remember after a 10 Hour Flight and another one the next day, we don't really want a long night or go a long way from the hotel.
1) Where to eat, patpong market?
2) Best option taxi/ public transport?
3) How much Thai money would you take (I know about the 300 Baht for getting out of the country?
4) What do I "HAVE TO" do?

In the U.S. egg nog is a seasonal food/drink. It is only sold usually during Thanksgiving and Christmas time. I was just wondering if it's something they drink in Italy also.

Me and my husband want cold weather, snow (but not necessary), seclusion (although I prefer a town somewhat nearby) and a cabin with a fireplace and plumbing (for me).

We do not ski and we would like to find some employment as well just to pay for food and the light bill.

We're not retirees and we're not rich. We have money saved. We just want cold, quiet and simplicity.

It has to be Colorado though. Hubby insists on it. I tried talking him into Alaska or Michigan, but no luck. Colorado it is.

So all you small town Coloradians, please step up and recommend an area in which we can start looking.

My first question is how's the weather during the new years? How's the Riu Ocho Rios - especially Ocean View Jacuzzi Suite?
