It is the slowest paced place that I've lived in. Sorry to burst your bubbles, but everyone else in America has you beat. Stop dreaming.

Why do you have to call northeners Yankees? I love the nice people in Houston but some of you are still very races not only by color but also by geographic location.

Wow...if you have this many issues with Houston, perhaps it isn't the place for you. If you can't handle the Southern Hospitality this great city has to offer and dream of being back in some wonderful northern city...then by all means go. Houston isn't for everyone, just as other cities aren't for Houstonians. It is fast paced paired up to other Texas towns just as Austin and Dallas/Ft Worth are fast paced. If it's not up to your standards of being "fast paced" maybe it's because we don't want it that way. Not to rain on your all other cities are so much better than Houston parade but Houston happens to be the biggest hub for the Oil Industry in the United States...not that oil is important to Americans. But what will I know I'm just a Texan born and raised in the outskirts of Houston, apparently all I do is aspire to live in a town that can match up with "every where else in America." You are a silly simple minded YANKEE!

I've never heard even one Houstonian aspire to be like NYC. Why would we aspire to be like that filthy rat hole? The only thing I see like NYC is the number of panhandlers that has increased since Hurricane Katrina. When I think NYC, I think "over-priced" cess pool. I haven't heard Houston described as 'fast-paced' either. Looking at your other questions, it is obvious that you are on some sort of Houston-bashing tirade. Why is that? Jealous that $250,000 buys more than a 1500 sf apartment? And from a 'Backstreet girl' to boot! Nope, couldn't pay me to live in NYC.

Houston wanting to be like the northern states? That's something new... Anyhoo, though it may seem that I am just stating the obvious, I don't think that Houston is the place for you. I mean, look at your pattern: you've been bashing Houston since you've arrived, have made several ridiculous comments about Houstonians and their so-called attempts to imitate Northerners, and...well...it's just getting old my dear! I'm certainly not one to be mean or unreasonable in any way, but I think you may want to relocate to a more "suitable" city. Ever consider moving to Las Vegas? Los Angeles? What about Miami?
