Sir Willliam Wallace
For those who don't know Sir Wallace
Sir William Wallace (c.1270–23 August 1305) was a Scottish knight who led a resistance to the English occupation of Scotland during significant periods of the Wars of Scottish Independence. William was the inspiration for the historical novel The Acts and Deeds of Sir William Wallace, Knight of Elderslie written by the 15th century minstrel Blind Harry. This work is more of a novel than a biography and is responsible for much of the legend encompassing the history of William Wallace. The film Braveheart is based upon the novel.

Grow the feck up man!

And stop watching Hollywood BS with Mel Gibson in it.

Watching Braveheart for an accurate understanding of medieval Scottish history is like watching Teletubbies to gain an in depth understanding of world political affairs.

Stick to Balamory, thats probably about your limit.

PS I'm Welsh and couldn't give a toss about William Wallace.

Why would England be bothered with a medieval Scottish criminal? Time has moved on now but it appears it is the ONLY thing Scottish people can say about Scotland... WOW... and to the silly little girl who suggested English people raped, killed and pillaged, that was the trait of the Vikings you un-educated idiot. Or are you suggesting every other invading force in the world or overseers of pathetically inept countries are all perfect and polite... SHEESH...

But, back to Scotland, they seem to have a bee in their bonnets about the English. I really don't understand why so many of them are so racially intolerant.......

I remember him. He looked a bit like Mel Gibson, didn't he?

What freedom? England rules you from Westminster and placates you with a virtually powerless Scotish Parliament while all major decisions are made at Westminster.

Who decides on your taxation, VAT, EU issues?

Oh yeah i remember him, heres how the English killed him

He was dragged through the streets of London to a gallows erected in Elms in Smithfield. Where after being hanged for a short time he was taken down still breathing and his bowels torn out and burned. His head was then struck off, and his body divided into quarters, the punishment known as 'hanged, drawn and quartered'. His head was placed on a pole on London Bridge, his right arm above the bridge in Newcastle, his left arm was sent to Berwick, his right foot and limb to Perth and his left quarter to Aberdeen where it was buried in what is now the wall at St. Machars Cathedral.

what a hero he must be.
