Hi, I'm from the Azores.........I don't live there now but I was born there and go to visit very often.
I enjoy going there, it's always very hard for me when I have to leave.
It's like most countries, you find very nice people but you also find people that are not that nice.......in most places I've been the people have been very friendly. I really enjoy the summer time and being so close to the ocean all the time........What Island are in living in?????I'm from Sao Miguel, my family lives in Ponta Delgada.

I've never been to the Azores but I live in an area of the US where there are A LOT of Portuguese from the islands. I've also been to Portugal a few times. (gf is from there.) The people are friendly and very direct. The food is very good as well!!!!

From what I understand, the islands are safe too. Which island are you stationed on?

We just returned from our second trip to the Azores and are working on a new travelogue for our website. You can read about our first trip here: http://www.thetravelzine.com/portugal_2003_azores1.htm

The people, the food, the place - AMAZING! Enjoy it - have a great time in paradise.
