Best hotel/casinos in LV - this would take into account more than just the rooms!!!
1-Caesars Palace
2-Venetian
3-Wynn
4-Bellagio
5-Mandalay Bay
The worst, it's a tie
The Gold Spike or the Western, even the homeless refuse to frequent those dumps...

I don't think there is any "best place" in Las Vegas because there is a "best place to go if you have kids with", "best hotel for being pampered", "best bang for your buck", "hotel that pampers the most", "most happening crowd", "youngest, most entergetic crowd", "safest, most secure hotel"...sure you have the picture.
After 14 trips to Vegas, my favorite room (but not hotel) was at the Alladin. It is called the Vista Vue room and has a nice entry area, sleeping/sitting area, dressing area and bathroom with huge glass shower, double vanity and the hugest tub overlooking the fountains at the Bellagio and a 27" television. Talk about fun champagne bubble baths.
Tryst and Lure at the Wynn Las Vegas are two of the hottest dance clubs in town. What happens here, stays here=)

If cost is not an issue then the Four Seasons at Mandalay Bay is the winner. Venetian and Bellagio are good also - not as classy but not as pricey.
The worst I have run into is MGM Grand. They have a very loose attitude toward credit card security. If they screw up your account and let someone else charge to your card they have no interest in correcting their mistakes.

Best hotels: Four Seasons, Wynn, Venetian, Signature at MGM Grand. All are top notch
Best Values: Gold Coast, Orleans, Boulder Station - solid three star properties that you can get for $40 a night on a weeknight, if you get luvcky. But not on the Strip, you need a car.
Worst - Wild Wild West, Fiesta Rancho

I LOVE Caesar's Palace both for the hotel and entertainment. Great clubs and nice rewards for gamblers. They also have some of the finest restaurants in the US. the worst place I've stayed is Luxor. It is smokey and both times I stayed there the toilets didn't flush right and the shower drained so slow I was ankle deep in water after a short shower.

The best would OBVIOUSLY be on the strip, and the worse is off the strip, or downtown, but i would recomend www.vegas.com and then look at the hotels, and pick which ine is the best. Good luck, and have fun!!!!
