They sell milk in bags in Canada. Why is this?
My aunt and uncle live in Toronto, and we usually go to the grocery store with them when we visit, and I notice that all of the milk is in bags. The store we went to had a small selection of milk in cartons but most was in bags, and they sell plastic milk pitchers that the bags fit in.

I think it's one of the only countries that does this, unless it's some sort of regional Ontario thing? I notice some of the bags leak alot, so I was just wondering what the benefits of the bags are, over jugs or cartons?

I know this isn't really related about Travel, but I would assume Canadians would look here to answer people's Canada travel questions.

I have heard that Macy’s sales are in the toilet, because they ruined a Chicago Tradition and destroyed Marshal Field’s.
I have also heard that it’s because there merchandise is so shoddy that no one wants to buy it. Which one is it disregard for Chicagoans history or shoddy merchandise?

I am about at my wits end here, can someone help me? All I want to find out is if 'hailing' a cab from Greenwich Village if you will be able to take the cab to Rutherford NJ and about how much it costs. I have called more cab companies than I have in a lifetime and I can't get an answer :( The distance is 12.4 miles....do they have a limit to where they go?! Gawd I feel ignorant here, but I could use some help....thanks to any and all!
P.S. I live in the midwest...i.e. ignorant of NYC cabs :)

I'm writing a story that takes place in NYC in a public junior high school. The only problem is that I've never been to NYC... are the public schools there generally nice? Are they in small buildings or large ones? Do they normally have scool uniforms? Any detailed information is appreciated!

The Lower East Side in one of the most historic BUT most happenin' neighborhoods in New York City. There aren't a lot of cool hotels in the area cos a lot of locals hang out there.... but the area's developing and hotels are starting to rise.

" Funky bars, boutiques and late-night eateries have made this neighborhood a hip destination." - from WHERENY magazine.

So.... if you were given the chance to stay in this hip place, what kind of hotel do you want to stay in (what amenities do you want to receive, for example) and why?

Please include your age and location when responding to this query. Thank you very much!

I am planning a drive between the border (Tijuanna) and points south. I will have 7 or 8 days and don't plan on rushing. I wonder if people can recommend points along the way and places to stop and stay and eat and roughly how long between places. I hope to make it to Melege but don't know how much time it takes to get between places to stay the night. So any advice, points, etc would be great.
