I would like to spend a week of my time traveling by road in the western part of USA and looking for some recommendations. Looking for scenic, historic, and family friendly road trip. I enjoy driving, and would like to cover the whole western part of the country. Thanks.

Thanks in advance.

I agree with Pacific Highway. Also, Idaho is beautiful. And the drive from Grand Canyon North Rim through Southern Utah and its Bryce and Zion Canyons and up the west side of Rockies. It depends on how much time you have.

But If you don't have much time--and a week is not a lot of time-- and want pure West Coast, then Pacific Highway from L.A. to San Francisco. You could easily spend a week doing this and not it all.

The Pacific Coast Highway runs up and down the entire west coast with a plethora of places to explore. Also Known as Highway 1.
