I'm a bit confused about counties in Engand. Say for example you've got Worcestershire, which is a county. Within Worcs is a town called Redditch. So, in a way, is an English county sort of like an American state?

Like, I live in Connecticut, just as someone lives in Worcestershire, but I live in a specific town in Connecticut, just like that person from Worcs would live in a specific town.

Does that make sense? can someone explain?

My boyfriend from the UK wants to call me and he is having trouble trying to call my number. He's tried +1, plus my area code and phone number and it won't work. My parents won't let me call him since it'll be a long distance charge on the phone bill. Sooo... what other methods, ways can my bf call me by dialing my number??

I lived in Japan for a couple of years in Hokkaido, and soon may have the chance to work in Tokyo - it will probably be in Shinjiku. For those who have lived/worked there, what was it like? I know all the obvious stuff. My Japanese is fluent, The culture and customs have become my own. The aim of my question is to find out if that area of Japan is REAL Japan, or just over-run with foreign business men. Also any tips/advice etc would be great. Cheers people.

My Boyfriend and I have been planning a vacation for Christmas and we narrowed down our choices to Pensacola and Miami. I prefer miami cuz I have never been there plus the night life and other activities too. Miami just sounds too active but it could be v crowded around christmas time. I find Pensacola more as a peaceful vacation spot. If anyone has been to both the places can someone suggest what would be a good choice? I am looking for a balanced vacation spot where we could have fun, dancing, out-door activities and at the same time relax and have a peaceful stay. Any suggestion would be appreciated! Thanks :-).

There are so many places that I'd love to see, but I just don't know where to start. I'm all by myself and I don't have much money, but I'm unsatisfied with my current life and I'd love to have some adventure. I want to know if theres anything out there, I want to see it for myself and be able to tell my Grandchildren of all the adventures I had when I was young. It sounds easy enough, but everyone I know isn't interested in traveling, they're all happy how they're living. I wish I could be satisfied, but I can't go on living in this town untill I know there's a whole other world out there. I want to see the world.

My roomie and I are heading down to Florida from Michigan. Everyone keeps telling us to just take I-75 all the way down there... BUT. Neither of us are all that great at directions in the first place, so does someone have a website other than: Mapquest, Yahoo, Msn, or Rand McNally that will give the I-75 route?
