Travel - 1 November 2006

I'm from the US and wanted to move to England for a few months to try something new. I know summer would be a better time but the only opportunity I have is from Jan - March. How cold will it get and will I still have fun travelling around Europe? The last thing I want is to get stuck in a hotel and get bored.

I live in Northwest Indiana and was thinking about taking a two day trip to canada just to see whats is like. I'm driving there can anyone give me information. I need to know what kinda of money they use, do they except travler's checks from the us and where to caash them there and what is the best high way to take to get there and best town to visit on the Canada/US border. Any replies is greatly apperciated. I'm leaving on the 21st of this month.
