Its Emirates. This airline has been in existance for a number of years. Etihad is a newly launched airline. An Airline as new as Etihad cannot obviously be the National Carrier of UAE. Infact, it is an airline more associated with the capital ie Abu Dhabi

theres no national carrier airline of UAE (in real)
As the:
Emirates (the national carrier of Dubai)
Etihad Airways (national carrier of Abu Dhabi)
Let me tell you why---etihad is not because before,
there was Gulf Air, than the Abu Dhabi government took out its share & formed the Etihad Airways
(as in real these both airlines dont represent the UAE,
its only a saying" as they r based in UAE)

Well,every emirate has the right to have its own airline,which then becomes a UAE National Carrier. So the national carriers in UAE are Ethihad(Abu Dhabi),Emirates(Dubai),Air Arabia(Sharjah)
