I'm planning to move to Mexico in a few years, and want to spend my vacations improving my Spanish (it's fair now, but very rusty), and exploring the Yucatan for places I might like to live. I want to start in May next year. I'm looking for someone who with first-hand experience of a short-term language program in or near Merida that serves adults.

So I want to travel from the US to pretty much anywhere abroad in the next few months. The only problem is I can't find anyone among my friends at home who will commit to going with me. They either can't find the time or don't have the money to go. Is there a way to find other people out there in the same situation who have the time and money to go abroad but can't find travelling companions? Are there any travel forums or message boards on the internet I can look at? I'm 27 years old, so I'm too old to go with a high school tour group and too young to join a seniors tour! :) Are there any tour groups out there for people my age? Any helpful suggestions will be most appreciated!

I've won one.Trouble is I'm not sure where to go to, and I don't want to use it all off on one holiday when I could spread it over three holidays... for example.. my son wants to go to the Caribbean... [I don't really want to but I'm gonna go for him]... the Caymans, Bermuda, Bahamas, Aruba, Turks & Caicos Islands work out at about £3000 for 2 people with flights & hotels plus they are kind of expensive when you get their so I thought about Tobago.. I've seen a four star hotel with flights and breakfast which comes to £1800.
Next I want to treat my best friend to a holiday as she's done a lot for me... so I'm considering a week in either Florence or Venice which is about £550 for a 4 star hotel with flight, hotel & breakfast.
Then I want to treat my Mum and brother to a holiday.. maybe to Mauritius which is £1890 for a four star hotel halfboard with flight....
Finally I'll be left with £760 to book a flight for next year.. but where to? Any ideas & are my choice rubbish so far?
