I like Woodbridge. Use to live outside In a city called Mannassas. Woodbridge is really growing because of the cost of living is getting so high close to the city. More people are moving out. The schools are good, people are nice, and it is safe. You can still get a home for a reasonable price.

I have friends who live in Woodbridge, which they also refer to as Hoodbridge. The area is nice at first glance but apprently not so much in terms of who's moving in. As areas closer to DC have become insanely expensive, it's forcing more people who can't afford it, further and further out. In terms of demographics unfortunately, it's most often not the type of person you'd want as a neighbor...or those that make the best public school students. Rather than tell you to continue the madness of moving even further away, I'd focus on areas equal distant from the city, in a different direction. Consider the Route 7-Leesburg Pike corridor for instance. Areas like Ashburn are very nice and the Loudon County School System is very good. Also, if you can swing it...Fairfax County continues to have one of the best school systems in the country...try the City of Fairfax, or Burke.

I moved from Woodbridge about a year ago. It's a decent place to live but the cost of living is ridiculous. The school system is horrible. That is one of the reasons we moved and the crime rate has gotten really bad as well. Honestly, not a place I'd want to raise my kids.

On US 1 and Rt. 123 intersection, there is a nice looking residential development behind the Wal-Mart. There's also the town of Occoquan which sits beneath the bridge on the Occoquan river.
