It was always recovered.

My luggage has been lost twice. Both times it was recovered and sent to me. But I have had baggage and stuff damaged. I've had two guitars broken beyond repair (I was payed in full for each) and have had 4 guitar cases and one suitcase damaged and replaced by the airlines. So far, they haven't screwed me over. Sometimes it takes a while to get reimbursed for damage (up to 4 months for one of my guitars), but it was always taken care of.

I've never had it lost.... I fly about 3 times a month. Only once have I had it get delayed... it was put on the wrong plane (I was flying from Boston-Washington DC and it was put on a flight to Columbus, Ohio and then it had to go to Dallas before it could go back to Washington). But it wasn't "lost" because they told me right away where it was. It was just delayed.
