I went in 2004 & 2005. The place is cheap compared with Spain etc, but prices did go up a bit from 2004 - 2005. Loads of pubs & restraunts to eat in. English breakfast were about £2, and Dinner was Fairly cheap to. As far as excursions, dont book with the hotel, there are loads of little travel agents around the town & it's cheaper there. Try & go to Dalyan to the mud baths - it's brill. Also a turkish bath is great, & I also recomend the jeep safari. There is a market on Thurs so try & get there for cheap goods. Also the shops offer great bargains. Although goods are copies, they are preety good. I had 4 pairs of Diesel jens for £70 2 years ago & they are still going strong. The shop even altered them for me....Make sure you haggle when it comes to buying things. Take a trip over to ishmellor, either via boat or bus. It's only a 10 minute bus journey & you will find it totally different to Marmaris. Marmaris is wild whilst Ishmellor is peaceful but nice. Enjoy your holiday.

Hey, I spend a lot of time in Turkey with my work. It always used to be ridiculously cheap, now its still very reasonable, but not like it used to be. Compared to most other European destinations it is a bargain. Then there is the shopping, if you want fake designer stuff, sunglasses, watches, bags, leather goods, clothes etc etc. The quality of the fake stuff goes with price, but you should be able to haggle down by about 70% on most stuff.

Anyway, I love it, and will often go again, dont worry about the bombs, they are few and far between, and happen a lot further to the east.

I go to Marmaris every year. My mother moved out there 3 years ago and she absolutely loves it. The food there can be very cheap, depends on what you like. Example, my husband loves to have Full English Breakfast out there, which you can get for around 2 pounds. There are lots of takeaway food places for cheap but then there are nice restaurants if you want to have a nice sit down meal. I took my mum, husband, and 3 children to a nice restaurant and paid about 40 quid for the lot of us, starters and drinks included.

Hi
I have an apartment in Turkey after having had holidays there several times. You can eat & drink for as little or as much as you like.....I would say for a single person anywhere between £300 & £500 ..it depends if you want to buy clothes/jewellry etc. I will say however, try The Mascott Bar...its really good & they dont try to 'rob' you. They will also give you lifts to & from your apartment/hotel & exchange money for you. The boss is called Umit....good guys. HAPPY HOLIDAY

do you want to risk it given the recent bombings? I'd seriously think it over...
