I'm guessing Tombstone, but what else?
Is there a cool route to take (.e.g fly in to Denver, do the tour by car, fly back from LA).
I'm from england by the way.

Lincoln, New Mexico, where the Kid busted out of Pat Garrett's jail is great. Carson City and Lake Tahoe. Wichita and Abilene, Kansas. Pikes Peak. Ft. Concho in San Angelo, Texas.

Head to Nevada, Utah, Arizona for a taste of the old wild west.

If you go to Vegas, which on this tour is a must, there is a small town outside it called Jeanne, head towards Los Angeles.

If you head up to the hills behind the town you will find an old original saloon, it has real bullet holes in the walls from gunfights.... its amazing.

Only the locals will direct you though (nobody in Vegas will have a clue where it is so head to Jeanne and ask the locals)

In the area you will also find Gold Mines, Horse Trails and other amaxing stuff.

Nice of you to respect the wild west! I suggest following Route 66. You'll learn a lot of it from that road. Also, some points of interest even though you're flying into Denver:

Dodge City, Kansas

there's lots of towns in the mountains of Colorado that are old west

come down here to Texas, we're still true to our ways

Death Valley, California

Las Vegas, Nevada (and surrounding area)

New Mexico Native Reservations & Casinos

Thise are just some examples, but there's plenty of memoirs of the wild west still out and about.

Make sure to visit all the tract homes that have taken over the west.

Seriously though. If you're driving, check into visiting:
Bryce Canyon (Ut)
Zion Nat'l park (Ut)
Mesa Verde (Az)
Casa Grande (Az)
Bodie (Ca)
Mission San Juan Capistrano (Ca) - or any of the Ca missions
Oatman (Az) - though I haven't been there in years & don't have any clue to what it's become- there used to be donkeys wandering in the street which were the progeny of the donkeys that miners had long ago abandoned.
Boron (Ca) - only if you're REALLY bored.

They're all very touristy, but they're also all very well preserved. Unfortunately for you, most remnants of the "Wild West" has long since been anhialited by development.

Arizona. They have lots of old wild west things. All over the state. Especially Tuscan.
