I'm looking to buy a .22 rimfire for plinking as well as a handgun for self-defense (though not necessarily in the same day). I live in southern California, and as guns aren't sold in pawnshops, I want to know; would I would get a lower price going to a retail show (like Turners Outdoorsman), or going to a gun show? I am not currently an NRA member, and I do not currently have my handgun license

Hello, I have a question concerning caliber size. Why would anyone choose a .357 over a .44? Or would they? A .44 is bigger, so doesn't that mean it's automatically better?

I was at the gun shop today and they have a brand new blued heritage arms single action revolver there for $190. I thought that was pretty cheap for a new gun. I own 8 guns already in various calibers but was thinking about buying this gun as a cheap means of target shooting since it is .22LR. Are there any heritage arms small caliber revolver owners out there who can weigh in? Does heritage arms make quality firearms? I don't know much about them. Are they solid or am I wasting $190 by buying one?

I fired my Colt .357 Magnum Python and what happened was sort of like a small firecracker... when i opened the cylinder i could see that the bullet was stuck right at the beginning of the barrel (close to the trigger). why did this happen and how can i get it out? thank you for your help.

I just purchased an MRI Lone Eagle handgun in 444 Marlin, and I'm wondering what kind of energy and velocity I will really be getting. It is a rotary breech, so there is no gas loss like a revolver.

They say barrel length is 14", but I think that is with chamber included. So, we'll say it has a 12" barrel.

I'll be shooting Hornady Leverevolution ammo, which is a 265gr at a claimed 2325fps from a rifle barrel, I assume of 24".

At half that barrel length, what sort of velocity do you think I will really achieve with this pistol? I know I really need to shoot through a chronograph, but I am just curious right now since I do not have it in hand.

Thanks.

I'm 25 and looking into getting a rifle. I have no idea about what kind of gun I should get and don't have much knowledge about guns. I wanted a .22 cause I could take that back with me if I leave the country, due to laws in my country (cant have a gun more powerful than a .22, does suck). But I live in texas and while I'm here I would like to go on as many deer and boar hunts that I can. I would like to get one rifle that I could use to hunt both those animals and maybe others.
I would like to get something cheap. What would be the best models in their class? From a recent trip to Bass Pro, I learned that a .22 won't help me down a boar. Please tell me the calibers, models, and companies to look at and if you know any deals that would be helpful too. thanks.
