If you purchase a suppression device it will need to go to a dealer of class 3 stuff. They in turn will transfer it to you. Be aware when buying from someone out of state, your in-state class 3 dealer may pass his $200 transfer fee on to you. Then you still have to pay yours, so you could end up having to actually pay $400 of taxes. Then beware that there are dishonest people on the internet, are you willing to consider the money lost if the supressor never arrives?
For the piece of mind and cost reduction, I would recommend purchasing a supressor from a dealer who has them in stock in his store in your state.

Unless you live in the same state as the seller, the silencer MUST go through a Class III dealer in your state. Make sure that the out of state seller is also a Class III dealer so that the transfer can go through on a Form 3, then there is no transfer tax between the selling dealer and the receiving dealer.

If you buy the silencer from a person in your own state, you do not need to go through a dealer (FFL/SOT). You will still need to pay the $200 tax and submit the ATF from 4 to the BATFE along with your fingerprint cards, certification of citizenship and photos. I hear the wait is between 1-2 months now for approval of the form.
If you buy from a person or dealer or manufacturer in another state, then you need to go through a class 3 dealer. I think that some people will want to go through an FFL/SOT even if they live in your state.
Your question is a common one for beginners in collecting weapons registered in accordance with the National Firearms Act of 1934. Websites like the ones I listed below are excellent sources of information when buying or making NFA weapons including silencers.
Please ignore liars like exitwound.223. People like them are part of the reason gun owners have to fight to keep their firearms.

You should be able to get it sent right to you if you have the paperwork. If not then probably should have it sent to a class 3 dealer.(it might be a company policy not sending to an individual but to a Class 3 dealer)

Silencers are illegal for civilian use. Try using the word "suppressor". Anyway the site you'd buy it from would have instructions for purchase.
