I have just received an older(??) archery bow..... it is a wooden 44inch model.
I have taken it to a local Archery service center who retightened the strings to "proper" tension.
I am a total *newbie* to the art of Archery so I am researching all I can about the POSSIBILITIES of this sport.
%What are the styles, types, and sorts of arrows (and tips) that are available for my newly attempted sport / hobby?
I believe this bow is a HUNTING model. - What (if any) *modifications* should I use to make this a SPORTING unit?

For a first trip, would you go to New Zealand, Argentina, Eastern Europe or would you go to a Texan game ranch?

I was wondering about this. I've fired a Delta Elite in 10mm and it kicks pretty hard, I couldn't imagine using it very effectively in rapid follow-up shots. I've never fired a 29, but I can imagine it beating the hell out of your hand.

Has anyone ever fired one of these or heard of someone carrying one? I can't figure out why they designed a subcompact in this calibre, but obviously some people must buy it. I just can't see it being very effective.

I have three 12-round pistol magazines that I bought in Kentucky that I would like to take with me when I get out of the Army and go back to California. As I understand it, the legal magazine capacity under California state law is 10 rounds. I would like to know if I would be allowed to keep them since I bought them legally in another state, or if they would be illegal to own in California regardless.

I wanted to get my sister a gun. Being an "old school" guy, I suggested a snubby 38, S&W or Taurus. Well she thought it was too bulky etc, etc. Anyway my next choice was a glock. I need your in puts on the Glock 26, 30, 36 slim. Cost wise I was offered a good price by my supplier.

In this area, it is difficult to find an outdoor range that gives me 100 yards to sight in. I'm forced, temporarily, to use a 25 yard indoor range. My scope is boresighted for 100 yards, and I would like to dial in to 100 yards. If I sight my scope for 25 yards, how much adjustment would need to be made to zero to 100 yards? I realize at this short distance, the bullet is rising, and then a progressive drop from 100 yards, and on.

I am using a Remington 710, .30-'06, a Nikon 3x9x BDC scope. MOA is 1/4" per click. I am using Remington 165gr. Core Lokt's.

Any help is appreciated.

A 38-55 from the early 1900's was just passed down to me. Its a fun gun with an octagonal barrel and a flip up peep sight. Has anyone hunted whitetail with one and are there any commercially available hunting loads you can recommend? Most of the shots I take are well within 100 yards. If it doesn't have enough knock down power Ill stick with my muzzle loader.

I am working on a mock trial and trying to figure out if the "gun" used, a Mauser automatic, which has a recoil of 15 degrees would really push someone back or is that about average?

post in the hunting section? Do they not know that it's for people who HUNT, not for the anti's? It drives me crazy that they think we care about their crazy radical views.

I'm thinking about buying one of these and have noticed in some ads they note the capacity 14+1 and others at 10+1. is this just a matter of getting a hi-capacity magazine or would I have to make other changes to the gun?

When searching, both ads were for the same exact model and sku number used by Smith & Wesson.

Thanks in advance.

I mean can the rifle be "cut" down the middle and fit in a briefcase like in the movies. Also would it be possible with a Blaser R93 or WA2000, though it would break down differently. This is all just curiosity offcourse, but I would still like to know.
