I would like to take a friend to the shooting range, but they don't own a gun, and I was hoping to let them use mine. Is this legal, or does a person have to own a gun in order to fire it? I am a gun newb.

I commonly make the mistake of wandering into the R&S section....And accordingly have gotten all of my reportings from there...(For no reason other than spite).It's so relaxed in here,and everyone has a good time answering everyone else's questions.Anybody else like this section?Basically here's two free points for your opinions.

I have hunted with rifles&shotguns all of my life and I am going to try out hunting with handguns.But i am not very ejucated with handguns(scince im mostly a deer and bird hunter)so can you please tell me if i can buy one that is good for hunting and home defense.(preferably a.357 or larger)

I cant stand those extremist. You know the people that freak out over hunting saying its unethical. If you dont like hunting, then dont hunt but keep you mouth shut about it. I would die for the chance to hunt a great beast like a grizzly or a African Lion. I dont understand how any human could say eating meat is cruel. The human race is based on the nutrition and meat from other species. Without meat noone would exist today. Hunting was founded by cromagnon man. Thats how they survived. Now we dont need to hunt we just want to. And thats ok. Thats the joy of being at the top of the food chain. We can do what we want. Opposable thumbs and brains allow human beings to do what they want including hunting. I cant understand anti hunters or their way of thinking. Dont call me names just state your argument.

I was wondering if the spread will be that much different on a shorter barrel than it would be with the stock 26 inch barrel. I am planning on doing some hunting and was wondering if I should still use 00 Buck shot or just Slugs since the barrel is shorter now?
