Which one do you think is better?

I would pick the XD45, I have seen really good reviews and I have shot them a few times. They seem to be a great pistol and the .45 round is great! But, the Beretta is good, I don't like how big it is and the feel. I still shoot it very well. I prefer the Browning 1911 or Browning HI-power. But, in your case I would pick the xd, unless you prefer pistols with a hammer whereas a berreta would fulfill that.

It is personal preference, shoot both and see what you think of each. Shot placement is key. But, I prefer the .45 any day.

Both are great weapons. I would go with the beretta 92fs. I have shot the xd line of pistols, and they are nice, but my 92fs has NEVER had a failure of any kind ...no jams ftf fte ftt NOTHING. And if you are going to count on a gun to possible save your life, it sure as hell beter go bang every time. The xd45 may be just as reliable, but they havent been around long enough to find out what problems they may or may not have. The 9mm doesnt have need the stopping power as the .45acp , but with premium ammo(i.e. silvertips, etc.) and the fact that you can practice twice as much for the same cost, it evens it out.

I own a beretta 92f, as a large frame weapon using it as a concealed carry gun is pretty much ludicrous. I'd rather shoot the beretta over the XD simp,y because I'm used to the Beretta, if you're going to be the one using the pistol, you should be the one to decide which one to buy. Which one fits your hand better? Which has the features you want? Consider ammo costs, 9mm is cheaper to feed than 45acp is. 45ACP has more stopping power, the 9mm has a higher capacity magazine. I've shot the XD and of course my own Beretta, probably the only reason I prefer the beretta is because I'm used to it and I know it's functions inside out, night or day.YOU should decide for yourself which one you want, both are excellent choices.

I'll be the one (there's always one) who'll come out and say Beretta. I own a 92FS, and have handled/shot the XD. .45 may be the superior defensive round (though shot placement, not bullet diameter, is king), but Low recoil, high capacity, shoots where I aim it and feels good in my hand wins for me.

Now, that said, I prefer a 1911 or Browning Hi-power over either the Beretta or the XD. Good Luck.

Each has it's plusses, but hands down I'd take the Springfield over the 9mm any day.

I would go with the Springfield. Both guns are excellent, but I like .45cal. better than 9mm. I would try to find a range that has both for rent, if possible, and try them out.

For concealed carry go with the Berretta, for home defence go with the .45
