Well for a start you can not have anything to connect you to the police, I can not think why on earth you would want to own a gun, is there not enough killing going on in this world already without you adding to it.

ok. the right answer. If convicted of any offence and get carry of a sentence of imprisonment over 3 years, you're banned for existence for possessing a shotgun/firearms certificate. once you've received a sentence of three months to three years, you'd be banned for 5 years. This also incorporates suspended sentences. relating on your particular offence historic previous. Bladed articles in public is an both way offence (providing there have been no aggregating elements) it will be heard through a Justice of the Peace therefore carrying a max 6 months sentence. Likewise drink pressure, precis in straight forward words, 6 months. 2d offence will of drink making use of in 10 years will end you up as a intense probability criminal and also you're in all likelihood to also get carry of a three 12 months ban and also you ought to bypass a clinical. To sparkling this up a 6 month sentence, you cant have a shotgun certificate for 5 years. No SENTENCE, no ban (uk OFFENCES)

i suppose i put you on to this by answering 1 of your last questions. How to apply for a shotgun or firearms certificate is to contact the firearms departmen at your local constabulary HQ.
They wii send out the relavent paperwork for you to get the ball rolling.
Providing you dont have any convictions then you stand a good chance of gaining a shotgun certificate.
Ounce you apply the fun begins, they vet you, try to find out all they can on you.
To stand a chance of gaining your certificate, i would join your local clayshooting club, thats if you dont already have any land to shoot on with permision.
If you have nothing to hide, then while your application is away been prossesed then its an idea to instal a police approved gun cabinet, to which they will come out to inspect. The cabinet has to be securley fastend to a main wall.
Any more tips or questions drop me a line

good luck

Phew ! this is a nightmare - You have to install Shuttered cabinets to keep them in - make sure there in a locked room - You will get a Police Inspector round to sniff about your home and do back ground checks.... in other-words - loads of hassle & expense - But these are necessary so Guns dont get into the wrong hands.. If you want to do a bit of shooting - just pop up to the Farm House and give the farmer a few Quid..and Bang ! your off ...

contact your local police station they will give you name and address of where to get an application form. in scotland it is pitt street in glasgow. you then fill in the details, provide a countersignatory(referee) that has known you personally for at least 5 years and sees no reason why you shouldn't have one. you need 4 passport size photos and need to pay £50 fee. in the meantime get yourself a gun cabinet and install it securely and find somewhere to shoot. try local gun clubs and clay pigeon shoots first. then you can progress to land. also good idea to get in touch with your flo(firearms liason officer) first and he will give you more details.approach all land owners smartly dressed and speak politely and listen to what they have to say. never argue. if you can, leave your contact details with them just incase.
and always remember introduce yourself and apologise for disturbing him /her and remember your p's and q's.

You have to go to the police. Are you a member of a shooting club or an organisation which has shooting as an activity (eg Cadets) as that could help your application. Always shoot responsibly and respect your weapon!

Hope you enjoy your new weapon!

You apply through the Police and if you've got any convictions forget it!

Guns are only meant for one thng, KILLING! Eho do you want to kill and why?

Guns are not cool, they just promote street crime, and as if there isn't enough of that in this country. Or do just want to look cool?

Change your ways!

With regards to the land, find out from the local register, and it depends on why you want to see them?
