Bottle all the way and I wear high top rubber boots for all hunting.
The more human sent you put in the area the quicker they will shift away from you.
Too many years in the woods watching how animals react to any form of human scent.
Then I empty the bottle in the areas I don’t wont the deer to move.
Kind of improvised funnel affect where the true funnels are to large hunt effectively.
It works for me and the animals can cross my trail and not smell that I was ever there with my high top rubber boots.
That is my thoughts on the subject.

I don't think it matters. I gun hunt an shoot most of my deer within 50 yards, both upwind and down wind. I hunt off the ground and just stand and go. I believe that being as quiet as possible on stand is the most important thing. The area that I hunt doesn't have much hunting pressure, so areas with a lot of pressure it may make more of a difference.

Depends. If you are bow hunting or intend to take your game at close distance I would suggest the bottle. If you intend to take that long distance gun shot It ain't gonna matter at all.
Me, I lay my 30'06 out of the truck window , smoke, and drink coffee......And I kill a lot of deer.
I think it was good old rack em and stack em Ted Nugent that said;
About a month before Deer season I start drinking apple juice..I drink apple juice in the morning..I drink apple juice all day..I drink apple juice before I go to bed.
Then when deer season comes I stand up in my stand and pee all over the place........The deer come running.....
Not real sure if that works or not tho.

Don't know about pee as rain will take most of it away however I saw a caribou go straight into the air ( aprox. 3 feet)like a cat does when it got a whiff of a # 1.

One of the biggest whitetail I ever shot was on our farm in NY. It was cold and we had already been out early and didn't see anything. we went in for lunch and decided to go back out for a couple of hours. I wasn't real enthusiastic about it but went anyway. I followed a trail out and stopped and peed on the trail and then walked up hill about 30yds. We are only allowed to use shotgun that time of year so I had My Ithaca with me. My buddy went about another 40yds down the trail and sat down. I decided he was in snowball range and started hurling snowballs. At one point I looked back down to the trail and there was an 8pt sniffing my pee. Before he got any ideas about me I shot him. Dressed at 224lbs. don't know if this helps ya or not just thought I would share.

I doubt it matters for gun hunting, especially if you stay downwind. However, I am not a big game hunter. The biggest game I hunt is whitetail deer.
