There are plenty of good spots on state land around East Jordan, Boyne Falls, Petoskey, Charlevoix and even smaller town called Elmira.

P.S. As answerer No.1 said. I won't tell my spots.

I agree with Brandon. Old orchards are best because:
a) They are easy to recognise as such.
b) Often associated where residential has been rezoned.
c) Beware of old wells; are death traps if cover is rotten.
d) Former fruit fall has made the soil richer than most
but leaf fall usually shrouds old well head covers.
e) Send in a couple commercial or industrial land agents
to tramp around awhile first. No big loss there.
