Personally, I believe store bought food is treated with less respect. But my personal opinion aside, I want to hear GOOD reasons that people have for either way. This is in response to someones comment on my last question.

I went on the NRA's website and it says you need a permit to carry a handgun. If I buy a handgun at a store and carry it out in the case, do I need a permit?

The revolver is Nickle plated, wood handles, no trigger guard and a six shot. I have not yet seen the gun in person. But do have some info about it. The Revolver was manufactured in Springfield, Mass with a serial #86550. Pat was approved on Dec 18, 1877
Thank you.

I have been thinking about trying to convert an sks into 7.62x25 by using a ppsh43 barrel and welding an extention onto it to make it 16 inches. I was thinking about eliminating the gas system since the ppsh43 is just a blowback operated system.
Why does the sks need to be gas operated when the bolt looks so much like the blowback operated bolts? Why couldn't it just be blowback operated?

Have very recently taken up shooting and was quickly enamored with the Glock 17 and S&W 619. Opted for the Ruger GP100 as the S&W was apparently out of production and virtually unfindable. Now an overly armed novice, I need to get to the range, pronto, and enjoy some shooting. My only question is - what is relatively clean, good range ammunition for these firearms? The salesperson also suggested used only 38s for the Ruger as they would "loosen up" the gun (and also said 357 ammo was too expensive) - can anyone chime in on "loosening up" the gun as well?

Hi, can you help me? With a 1842 .69 smoothbore musket, what kind of powder charge should i use? I was thinking 110 grains of FFg, is that to much?
And also, with a .69 roundball how much will this thing kick? I know blackpowders slow burning, but a .69 balls still alota mass to move, would it be like a shotgun slug?
And one more thing, would it be good for taking a deer or something like that with? Hope you can help, and thanks!

I'm a writer and I'm writing a short story. I'm stuck on a scene where the main male character is out in the woods at a deer camp. I've never gone hunting so I need to know what happens at deer camps and such. Specifically, what goes on with the men when the women are at home wishing they'd come out of the woods. Because that's the general gist of the scene. The main character's newlywed wife misses him while he's out hunting with boys...

(but minus brass, primers etc)?

I'm looking at two rifles. One in .243 with a 22 inch barrel and the other 7.62 x 39 in a 20 inch. I'm wondering if the second would be significantly better with a 22 inch one also. I'm thinking it might not be worth the extra money.

I'm writing an essay about "blood sports" and wether or not they can be justified, which particular emphasis on Fox Hunting.

I am finding it difficult to find any valid and good "pro hunting" arguements.... Can anyone think of any pro hunting ideas? If not, just what are your views on hunting animals for human sport?
