Being completely pedantic here--yes, if it's a revolver. If it's an automatic (Magnum Research's Desert Eagle comes in .357 for example) it will probably not work.
However it's not something you want to do often--the .38 case is shorter than the .357, and when you fire .38s in it you could possibly get some stippling in the cylinder just past the end of the case. Then when you run .357s in there, that portion of the case will expand into the stippling and might have some extraction problems.

Yes. The original development of the 357 was just 38 Specials loaded to high pressures. They lengthened the case enough to make it hard to fit them into 38 Special revolvers, which would be a disaster. The case is otherwise identical, and it headspaces off the rim, so it's OK. Be careful about doing this too much, though, or you'll get enough leading just forward of the shorter case mouths to make it hard to load 357 cartridges. If you handload, it's better just to load some light loads in the 357 cases.

Yes.
In one of the rare exceptions to the rule, you can safely load and fire .38 Special into a gun chambered for .357 Magnum.
Despite the difference in naming convention numerology, they are the same diameter, with the Magnum case being longer.

Yes. Many people prefer to shoot .38 specials out of their .357 magnum revolver because of the reduced recoil. I'm one of them.

As everyone else is saying - yes you definitely can. I've had my 357 Blackhawk for years and I certainly shoot more 38s through it than 357. Whether its new ammo or reloads, its cheaper and easier on your hand to shoot the 38s.

Yes, but not the other way around. A 38 will not chamber or fire 357's.
