I know this isn't really a hunting question, but I figgured if you were in the hunting catagory, you pay attention to animal habbits and patterns. What things do you notice them doing differently when it's going to be bad?
Please, something more believeable than the height of squirrell nests, I fell for that when I was a kid! Thanks!

I was wondering about the G2 contender and Encore single shot pistols. If I were to get the Encore with a 15" .308 barrel how much recoil would it have? Also, are the Contender and Encore barrels interchangeable so I could put a pistol caliber on it as well? Another question, if I were to want the rifle version, could I buy a factory stock for it and replaci it with the pistol grip? And how much does each cost?

I am in the market for a .44 magnum and found that Charter Arms makes a .44 special, is it a good weapon or should I save and buy a Smith/ Wesson or Ruger?

I got a spent cartage in the chamber of the rifle. The gun tried to eject it, but only pulled the bass out maybe 1/4 of an inch. I can not make the bolt budge a bit. I cant pull it out or push it all the way back in. Totally locked up tight. Any suggestions?

I live in maryland, a state which has a ban on magazines for rifles that hold more than 20 rounds. What is allowed is if i leave the state and purhase them where they are legal. My sister lives in a high-cap legal state and has bought two of them for me. my father is going to her state tomorrow to see her.

heres the thing. I am 16, the rifle i own is in my fathers name, but he doesnt shoot it. if he is across the state line in the high-cap legal state and recieves the magazine from my sister may i have them when he gets back? or at least "use them" as i do "his" rifle? or would I physically have to recieve them in the hi-cap legal state.

sorry i know this is a confusing question

So my boyfriend his stepdad and i went phesant hunting this morning with his German Short Haired Pointer, they've taken him a few times before and he did a realy really good job, today he did good for the first 30 mins. or so and got about 3 birds, but after that he wouldnt leave our sides, we thought it was becasue of the loud noise but he was no where near it. My boyfriend has a golden retriever puppy at home that is super close with the pointer. could the reason the dog not want to hunt be because he misses the puppy? ... we know its not cuz he was hungry or thirsty... he'd hunt on and off.. what happend?

If not, why? It even says it is for firearms on the can, and it keeps moisture out and helps with rust.

I've got a Ruger 10/22 rifle and a Ruger Mark III pistol I use solely for target shooting. I don't want hollow-point bullets since I want as small a hole in the target as possible.

I've been using Remington Thunderbolt ammo (cheap -- as in $11 for a brick of 500) but they seem pretty dirty. A guy at the range suggested the "Gold Metal" Remingto rounds but I can only find them in hollow point.

Folks, .22LR ammo is soooo cheap that I don't mind spending 'a lot' for the rounds...it's still an order of magnitude cheaper than a 9MM or .45 ACP or whatever.

What do you recommend I get to shoot clean little holes in the targets...and keep my guns nice and clean in the process?

Im thinking about getting my girlfreind a gun for her birthday..i myself have a .45 but she doesnt seem to have the hand strength to pull the the shaft back to put the first bullet in the chamber...thsi worries me becuse if Iam not home she wont be able to to work my gun if needed to...so i would like to get one easier for her to use Im thinking a revolver of some kind there easier to load and will never jam...but sadly they only have six rounds and and she has never shot a gun in her life....what whoud be the perfect gun for her?Im thinking 38 sub nose

I was wondering wich of these scopes would be best for a russian nagant. it is equivelant to a .270 or a 30-06. I want a good inexpensive scope. I need it to see far and zoom out good enough to see right up close as well. Also which brands should I be looking at? These are some I have been looking at. Thank you. My budget is about $50.
