i was just given a winchester model 1912 20 guage. I was able to find out it was made in 1913. The gun is in great condition considering how old it is. Does anyone know how much this is worth. I dont want to sell it, I plan on handing it down to my son.

I'm pretty new to archery and I was just wondering if it's okay to leave my bow strung up or if it would be better to unstring the bow whenever I'm not using it?

Hello, I am going to take a safety class and go hunting withing the next year or so. I looked in a pamphlet and was interested in hunter smaller game (not bunnies and stuff), and there was the Marten. I want to go after one but there was nothing about hunting it. All it had was trapping for it. Is it possible to hunt them (with a gun) without needing to trap them?

When deer hunting season starts do you have to go out that first day to get a deer. If not you will not get a deer at all thats what I was told.

I'm looking for the name/type of ammunition that shatters inside of you, and who invented it , and some examples of what it could be used for. And is there a particular website I can go to for research on different bullets? Any help would be greatly appreciated thanks.

Hello guys, just an intro, Im a 37 year old male who starts work (at the hospital, which is 12km from my residence) at 6 and usually comes home at 11:30PM-1:30 AM, or maybe later (if on-call) and the way to my condo is pretty dark and quiet at night. The reason Im looking to purchase a handgun is because a surgeon (and friend of mine) at the Hospital I work at had his vehicle stalled and had to wait for CAA, while he was waiting, apparently his car was stolen at gunpoint, and he uses the same freeway as I do, so I need a good handgun, and size does not matter nor does concealability (Guns at the hospital are locked in a huge locker guarded by 2 guards 24/7), all I care about is HIGH DAMAGE to be inflicted on my target and dependability (I dont want a gun that will fail me constantly)

What does it mean when anglers talk about having a rod with a fast tip? I have some rods with "whippy" tips and some with a tip that does'nt move much at all (berkley lightning rod.) What are the advantages of a fast tip?

I was watching my usual hunting shows on TV this morning and I saw some people hunting Elepahnt. Now don't get me wrong I'm no bunny hugger, I hunt all sorts of animals and birds. I see no reason for elephant hunting and don't think I would ever do it. Is it good to eat?

I bagged a 9 point buck on 11/10/07 in Missouri. It had 5 points on the right side and 4 points on the left side of his rack. He weighed about 200 pounds and I assume he was several years old. I always thought that the antlers would have the same number of points on each side.

Years ago I worked as a gunsmith. I guy brought me his model 170 savage saying it wouldn't fire. I checked it, it wouldn't fire. I was thinking crud had built up behind the fireing pin and proceeded to disassemble to clean it out. When I got it apart the firing pin was bent and dragging on the side of the firing pin hole. The only explination I can think of is excessive dry firing caused the pin to streech, then it was fired and the reduced travel caused the pin to bend. I've straightend the pin, though I haven't rehardened it yet. (I also ordered a new firing pin.)
Now the questions:
1) What is the correct length for this firing pin? I've gone through all my old stuff and I cannot find it anywhere.

2) If I cannot find the proper length then we go back to partrussion length. With the firing pin (It's a 2 Peice) in the forward postion, hammer at rest against the pin, how much pin should project from the bolt face?

Well, I'm a twelve year old girl and my best friend is having a paintball party. Soo, I've NEVER been before. Just to check, is this good to wear:

legs: tights, leggings, THICK socks (ie football or hockey socks), jeans and maybe something on top

top: shortsleeved shirt, longsleeved shirt, jumper ?and a coat?

and I have ski gloves and a scarf!

Well, is that good? It is winter so I shouldn't boil. I'm really looking forward to it.. and I can usually take pain quite well! Where's the worst places to get hit?

I live in the southwest where thunder storms are common and practically every time I get out of the car I get shocked. I carry so this worries me a bit. Could this potentially cause an AD?

Also, something else that I've been wondering is what would hypothetically happen if you were stuck by lightning while carrying? Would every single cartridge in the magazine explode?

I own a 2 year old beagle. You might think this is a late start but if you knew my dog then it is not. I really want to train him to hunt rabbit. I can see that he has it in him. If i let him out back and there is a rabbit out there, he has broken his chain twice and he will chase them until they leave the yard. Right now i have a rabbit fur/pelt. What types of exercises or drills should i do to get him ready?? I do not have the opportunity to take him out with other expereienced dogs seeing that I do not know anyone around me that own beagles. Also what is a good way to shy him away from his gun shyness? If he let alone sees a gun he is out of there.

If so, you may want to have your doctor test your blood for lead, form breathing all that lead dust. You Might be surprised.
