One method that will get you in the ball park is go to a good book store or possibly your library and look up your weapon in the current edition of the Blue Book of Gun Values. This is based on condition and fish of the firearm which you must have a decent knowledge of firearms to judiciously evaluate to be accurate.

One method many people seem to be using to get a ball park price of current value is trying to find the same weapon on an auction web site such as Gunbroker.com, gunrunnerauctions.com or any number of similar sites. The information given there can be assessed to see how the featured weapon may compare to yours. Do keep in mind that many times the prices shown are the dealer or owner's starting price and no bids have actually been made. In other words the price on the weapon is protected not necessarily the market price for the weapon.

If you want a professional estimate try your local gun or sporting goods store and ask them for a list of weapon appraisals or knowledgeable dealers or gun staff that may be able to assist you in pricing your weapon.

As with anything a price is only good if that is what someone will pay you for it or to estimate value for insurance purposes.

The current value depends on
the year of manufacture
the make
the condition of the piece
and the no. of pieces extant.
As for actual price, you should take it to a few reputed valuers. If you want to get a rough idea without paying for the services of a valuer, go to a few antique dealers and see what they offer.
