Totally ILLEGAL in FLA!

Back in the day, (before they OUTLAWED seining & gillnets in coastal waters), if me & my Dad found a gillnet strung across a creek, (in the ICW), we would take it and BURN it, (or fix/make cast-nets with it) !

Try casting an 8 FT CAST-net. You will get good results and not have tons of DEAD & DYING bycatch to deal with!

As far as I'm concerned, if you string a net across a creek ,(fresh or saltwater), your a complete @sshole and should be beaten with a fiberglass fishing pole!

(no joke)

Totally illegal to set up any kind of seine, gill, or fishing net across the mouth of any river I know of. Especially in TX, La., Calf., or British Columbia. Check your fish and game regulations in the area you want to net fish in. 40yr exp, Pacific Northwest guide
