For about 30 years I have wondered: When you see Bulls in the pens waiting to be riden in Rodeo's there are two straps around the Bull. I know the front strap is for the rider to hang onto, but what is that second strap toward the back of the Bull? It is also on horses waiting to be riden in the Rodeo's.

If you were to fire a 45 acp out the back of a jet aircraft; what would happen to the bullet? The 45 acp projectile travels roughly 900 fps. If you fire it from a plane traveling at the same speed (900 fps), in the opposite direction, what will the projectile be doing?

(This is a repost to an older question I asked) My dad and I do a catfishing tournament each year and want to make up some shirts. what is a catchy slogan? We also do a hunting tournament.. We had shirts made up for that saying Rabbit Raiders. Well now we're doing the catfishing shirts and i've thought of things like Raiders of the Rock (we fish on the Rock River) and Catfish Capturers but I don't think they're catchy enough. Can someone please help me?! Thanks!

I know what the .30 means in .30-06 and .30-30, but what about the 06 and the second 30? In the old West, there was a .44-40 and a .30-40. What's the second number?

I just got some Taiwan .30-06 on 1919 Browning belts. How do you remove the ammo from the belts? I thought it would just be cliped on but the links wrap pretty much all the way around the bullet. Can you just slide the ammo out?

Go here to see a pic of the ammo: http://www.aimsurplus.com/acatalog/Taiwan_30.06_FMJ_Boxer_Primer.html

I was curious to see if any of you had experience with the S&W 686? I am considering one for a house/hiking gun, and wanted your input and opinions. I am also interested in the cylinder length. I plan on carrying heavy loads in the woods (I live in black bear and cougar country here in East TN) and I'm wondering if the cylinder has enough space for them.

The gyrojet was crap. Its not that hard, hell you could probably make a custom grenade that could be fired out of a flare pistol.Grenade launchers don't have much recoil,If they just made a 12 gauge sized nade we could use it.I'm not saying its practical but you would think we would have something like it by now.

We have a 1.5 acre pond in our back yard and the past couple of years there has been this one large fish that comes out almost every day to the surface and will stay there for hours. It's now about 3+ feet long and looks like it's mainly silver color. Most of the time its tail is out of the water and its dorsal fin sometimes. It seems very playful and will splash around and run away any time we try to get close and get a good look or a picture of it. I know there are 3 large grass carp in the pond but this is not one of them. Anyone have any idea of what it might be or where I can go to see if I can place it? Thanks.

What is the difference between the Beretta 92F and the U.S. M9? I was not aware of any difference until I saw both at a gun store.I asked the clerk but he didn't know the difference either.

If you had $700 which handgun would buy? Revolver or auto-loading. it has to be something bigger than a .22lr.

Obviously it is not hard to get a used or NIB MAC-10. But just wondering, is anyone manufacturing the MAC-10 right now? And if not, why not?

Once the AWB ended, I would have thought a lot of these old guns would have come back. It seems only the AR-15 and new FN guns are doing well. No one has brought back the MAC-10/Tec-9/HK/Steyr AUG/USR/SSP, etc.

WTF!
