You want .22 LR (which is .22 caliber, Long Rifle)
You should be able to find this at any sports retailer, gun shop, many hardware stores and online.
The best thing to do....and it's fun as well....is to buy a box of several different brands of .22 ammo.
Clean your firearm well and go to the range with a number of targets printed on regular printer paper....8.5x11.
Warm up with about 20 shots, then test fire each ammo with a fresh target for each. Write the name of the ammo used on a target, then at the end compare all the targets.
Most all guns, but especially .22s, will shoot better with one ammo over all the others. Price, brand and quality seem to have nearly no bearing on what your gun will shoot best. finding out is often fun to, so look forward to it.

.22 is the diameter of the bullet. It is most likely a .22 long rifle that it will fire. Have someone that knows inspect it for you. There are several types of .22. There are .22 Magnums, .22 Long rifle, and .22 Short that I know of.
I suggest you find someone knowledgeable and have them teach you about safety before you try to use this rifle, you need to be aware even a small charge can kill you. It is not a toy, respect its ability to kill you.

Mind you I do think there are "reasons" for concern, based on information by Holder, Napolitino, Hitlery Clintoon and Obamee with clear ideas of installing Illinois and UN style gun laws in the US. I have a rule, "buy cheap bury deep", then sell on panic buying.. I think much of the ammo panic is a self feeding self fulfilling shortage . There are issues for sure. I have concerns about the direction the current administration wants to take us economically this could further increase the panic buying. I've been working on a deal on some brass, up until March 17th the DOD was required to 'De-mil" and destroy brass the ruling was to go into effect in 2010. This ruling was vacated. I think within a few months if Obama and his liberal ilk in DC don't pull something really stupid, I believe will see prices decline maybe not to pre-iraq levels but pretty close. I think a lot of the panic is to insure the fever is maintained at levels to keep prices inflated. I liked what Dave Ramsey said about the recession.. Don't participate in the panic. I think the less people exhibit panic the more likely the market for the buying side of the equation will stabilize and some people will be left holding a lot ammo they will need to sell to make mortgage or interest payments on the CC's they used to buy it up.
