Ingun you are right!

Ugly Stiks are probably the #1 fished rod in America! Their "best" is their "Lite" series,(IMHO).

Because Walmart is now "the" place to buy tackle my top ten would be something like this:

1. Ugly Stik
2. Ugly Stik "Lite"
3. Berkley "Lighting Rod"
4. Fenwick "Eagle"
5. Shimano "Convergence" & Daiwa "Coastal Inshore" Rods
6. Lamiglas
7. All-Star
8. G-Loomis
9. St. Croix
10. Penn or Star Rods

This "10" isn't in order, but because Walmart "pushes" the top 4 "relentlessly" I remembered them 1st! (lol)

I fish coastal salt water and fresh water. Some greats are: All Star, Falcon, Castaway (light salt-water). Fenwick, St. Croix (fresh-water). I use a Lew's saltwater reel for both. ( If you need to go a little cheaper, your basic Ugly Stick with a Shimano spinning reel will do the trick). P.S. Salt-water fish fight much harder, so if you fish a lot, you want a good quality reel that can take the burn ( a Lew's or Curado for casting, and a Penn for trolling/ bottom fishing.)

The Ugly Stiks wins overall! Best price! Best strength!
I have falcon, loomis, allstar and other rods but they cant touch my ugly stiks! Yes I know the ugly stik is not the most sensitive rod but they out last eveyone else on the market!

I find it very hard to believe anyone that owns G Loomis rods prefer to use Ugly Sticks. They are top selling rods because they are advertised as indestructable and sensitive. They are the least sensitive rods you can buy bar none. Good advertising catches the average fisherman everytime.

This question is almost impossible to answer, we need to know if it is fresh water, salt water, fast action , slow action, collapsible, etc. We need more info. And plus everyone will have their own opinion.
