Chris Osgood's GAA in St. Louis in 2003-2004 was lower and his save percetage higher than was Patrick Lalime's in Ottawa that season. (Lalime is currently the backup Goalie in Chicago, fyi).

2/3rds of the Wings top line is hurt tonight and was also hurt when they spanked the Wild on Saturday.

It has been a consistent argument of Sens fans and other detractors that the Wings were one injury away from being just and average NHL team. I encourage all of you who I have had to read spew that nonsense to pay attention for the next few Wings games and watch that average team function without 2/3rd's of its top line.

Now take away 2/3rds of the Heat, Spez, Alfie line, can you say the same thing about the Sens?

(He was chosen in less than 2% of Yahoo's pools and less than 1% of TSN's pools)

I just realized this. We have Crosby haters in the hockey section, there's a bit of a buzz in the football section about "Pats/Brady haters," and a lot of people aruge that the "hate" comes from the player/team's success.

Would this hold true for Team Canada? Canadian men came off a 9-0 tournament with a gold medal back in May, Canadian women are dominating everywhere, Canadian Juniors are defending tournament champions after coming off a three-peat and now they have a 19-game winning streak. Gretzky said it best at 2002 Olympics that "...everybody wants Canada to lose except for..." and we know how the rest of that speech went. So? Do European hockey fans hate Team Canada?

Bruce Boudreau is officially the head coach of the Washington Capitals. Personally I think it's a great move. Your thoughts?

He just kind of looks like he belongs behind the bench (watching the Spengler Cup during the World Juniors intermission).

Do you envision him being an NHL coach in the next couple of years? I am sure he will put in some time as an assistant for some time before he becomes a head coach but do you see him as a head coach in the NHL? Toronto sometime down the road maybe?

My friend said Bettman created the shootout for an American audience that is uninterested in the sport. I personally don't like the shootout, but what do you think?

Does he get paid more? If so, is that because of a clause in the Collective Bargaining Agreement that the players organization has with the league or is it all worked into the players contract? Also, does it work the same with coaches? For example, Bruce Boudreau was the coach for the Hershey Bears. As the interim coach for the Capitals and since he was already in their system with their AHL affiliate, what kind of a pay raise would he get?

Little high on Tavares don't you think?

"Strong in net and on defense and lead up front by Tavares."

Pretty high praise for a guy who probably will see less ice time than anyone on the team. Looks like you have bought into the hype.
Funny, when I think of who they are led up front by, he is one of the last guys that come to mind.
Let's give guys like Giroux, Turris, Marchand, Sutter etc. their due. It is guys like this that will need to lead Canada up front, not Tavares. He is the 13th forward and will probably see some time on the PP but I mean, come on. You pick the 13th forward on a depth chart of 13 to lead the charge?
