It's about damn time! This is like when the Penguins added Jordan Staal last season, yes?

During the last few days I've listened to various media outlets talk about contracts, contracts, and contracts. All that talk not only made me hungry (it was around breakfast time, people), but got me wondering...which player in league history had the biggest dropoff in scoring following a huge contract haul?

I'm wondering if Alexander Ovechkin has either cut off in-season contract talks or are the Caps waiting until the offseason to talk. If someone signs him to an offer sheet, it will be the Jaromir Jagr situation all over again. Any thoughts to this?

Since we are on the subject of the Capitals, they sure look confident on the ice after the recent coaching change. Was I under the impression the team (especially the defensive corps) was playing like they were under suicide watch while being coached by Glen Hanlon? I've never seen a team play that scared since the 1997-98 Vancouver Canucks!

On the Sweden team there is a player with the last name forsberg, no relation to Peter, but still, he is a really good player and i was wondering if anyone could provide a link showing his junior/amateur stats.

of course i favor the swedes (Canada first of course!) and i like to see who is up and coming out of the swedish factory.

oh yeah, while we're at it, can someone find their goalies stats? the one that started against Canada on Saturday.

thanks guys.

Ive never tried but just guessing it would be a little difficult to locate the puck and see exactly whats going on, or is this not a big deal?

That wasn't a goal against Buffalo in the Stanley Cup either, in my opinion.

This season, in my research for fantasy hockey, Janet Eagleson caught my attention because of some of her statements in her columns. She is a fantasy analyst for Rotowire.com and the resident NHL expert for GoTV networks. In the past two weeks she has made two statements that just struck me as off the wall. This week stated that Joe Sakic will retire because of his sports hernia. Last week she claimed that Jeff Carter will be traded this season because the Flyers will no longer be able to afford him due to the Mike Richards contract.

The Sakic prediction is not totally crazy given his age but I still think it is a little far fetched. He has had 1 seasons below 75 points in the last 5 years and was just shy of a point per game this season. The man has shown few signs of slowing down at all prior to this injury.

Mike Fisher of the Ottawa Senators did so on Saturday night. I'm looking for the player who did it most recently before him.

the penguins DO HAVE some reasonable spots open for this guy. Recchi is gone. Roberts broke his leg today. it just seems like there is enough space on the roster for this guy to play. what do ya'll think?

Psst. Just play along...nod you head. I am super-duper immaturely ridiculous, obtuse right now.

1) What player has the most finesse?
2) What player has the hottest wife/g/f?
3) What player has the most serious-looking playoff beard?
4) What player hotdogs the most when he scores (not in the perv. way)?
5) What player is the worst skater in the NHL?
6) What player is the least sportsmanlike?
7) What player do you think spends the most time in front of a mirror?
8) What player would you guess has the worst smelling fart?
9) What player fights a bunch, but is not very good at it?
10) What player has the worst teeth?

Thanks for playing along. I'll try to have more enlightening questions tomorrow.

he only has 16 goals this year. I thought he was going to touch the 50 marker by this season's end. But it doesn't look like he will be anywhere near that. ovechkin now has 30!!

Does any team (NHL or Euro) own Cujo's rights? I would think a team like TB or LA might be interested if they could sign him on as a FA. Thoughts?

So, did you freaking Flyers fans do a victory jig after the Lightning beat-down today? Have you been drinking since 1:00 like me? What kind of special triumphant hockey dinner are you having tonight? Who won the fight Cote or Roy? Oh, that is a silly question…..Why does Cote fight so good? How does it feel when your team wins? I don’t know how that feels anymore….just curious.

1. Did you like the glow puck or hate it?
I thought it was cool, it made the puck very visible and thats what i think the main problem is with people of why they dont watch hockey because the puck is hard to see.
2. Also do you know why did they get rid of it?
3. Any chance of any other company (versus, nbc, espn) using it?
