Bob, Jack (b. 1987) is only14 months older than Jordan (b. 1988), not 3 years.

The only reason Skille didn't make the team right after the draft was because he had committed to the University of Wisconsin and was ineligible to attend training camp (not that he would have made the team as an 18 yr old), Staal being a Jr. was eligible to attend training camp.
Skille was actually slated to make the opening day roster this year, but with the strides that Kane made, and Toews previous experience with the big boys, Tallon didn't want to take 3 sub-20 yr old forwards into the regular season, and Skille was the odd-man out.
He's taking Samsonov's place tonight on a line with Martin Lapointe and Yanic Perreault, and so far hasn't looked out of place, but hard to do so when you only get 2 min of ice time.

Jordan Staal made the team out of training camp, even then their intentions were to send him back to Junior after a few games but he made them keep him up with his strong play.
