The idea you have was one of the finalists, and most of the owners picked yours. Bettman convinced them to give the schedule that will be used for the next two years a chance a chance.

Personally, I wanted 82 games between Chicago and Detroit, but nobody outside of Chicago wanted that!

What the **** have you been smoking? That's this schedule but worse!

Here's what I think should happen:
-home and home against the opposing conference (30 games)
-5 games against the division (20 games)
-3 games against the non-division conference opponents (30 games)
-2 extra games against in conference teams based on position in their respective divisions (1s face 1s, 2s face 2s, and so on)

8 is IMO too many for intra division. 6 is more appropiate. Also, I think you should play your conference more than the other.

Don't like yours and like the NHL's new one better.

The schedule they implement next year should be just fine. But even this won't make everyone happy.

Yeah, I agree with Bob...8 is too many. 6 sounds better.
