I was pondering this while watching a game, could post-lockout rules have effected the Effeiciency of the Powerplay?

I asked Awesome Bill to help me, unfortunatly we both couldn't find anything.

LITY has access to the NHL Database and maybe he could take data from the 03-04 season and compare it to the 05-06 season.

Chris Simon has been suspended for some 30 games which means he won't play again 'til later on in the season. What he did was dispicable. People are saying it's the longest suspension in NHL history. That isn't accurate. About 30 decades ago, a player was suspended for LIFE. What some of these players are doing on the ice not only draw negative feelings toward themselves, what they do is ILLEGAL. Some of them, like Tod Bertuzzi should be charged criminally. Simon definitely has issues, and until such time as he can prove that he's fit to play properly without violence and without causing personal injury to another player, he should be suspended indefinitely. If violent behaviour isn't curtailed, it will take a player being killed before the NHL does something strongly to stop it. I hope this never happens.
Tod Bertuzzi cost another player his career...that's just the tip of the iceberg. Enough..I've vented now.

Is this the year....

That some scores 200 points?
That a goalie stops everything?
That kids start to tape their sticks like Staal?
That someone score 50 in 38, 37, 36?
That we finally find out who is dads favorite?

Is this the year?

When it is behind the net or towards the corner on a non-offsides rink? For that matter how often do you chase the puck on a Roller rink? I find that the puck tends to stay put anyway so I rarely chase it. Besides we are on a non-offsides rink. They can dump it to a guy just waiting for it.

I'm a complete outsider to the sport, and as far as I know, hockey is the only major sport that allows actual fighting during the course of a game, even at the pro level. Why is this?

Hello all,

I'm going to the Senators game this weekend(Sat @ 7). I just have a couple of questions, I reside downtown(near Rideau Mall) and was wondering what the best time would be to leave downtown on Sat Dec 22nd, the game starts at 7.

Also, I know that Scotiabank Place is kind of located in an unusual area for an arena...my question is, what are some cool bars or restaurants near by that we can go to before or after the game?

Lastly, hows parking like at scotiabank place? Like price wise and number of spots, how long it takes to get out when the game is over etc.

I hope someone can help me out.

Thanks

The Sabres could have signed both stars during last season for a reasonable price. Regier, wouldn't negotiate, BUT why?

Now Vanek, as good as he is, is quite overpaid. I know this is old news, but watching the team play, it still bugs me!

I say he's a danger to his fellow players and should be banned. I don't care that he's a "great guy" or that he has issues off the ice. He has issues ON the ice. He's a menace.

Sigh.

Anyway. For those of you who play fantasy hockey:
1) Who do you regret drafting?
2) Your best acquisition? (Be it someone you drafted, traded, or signed later...)
3) Be honest... Where are you in the standings?

If you don't play fantasy hockey:
Are you going to give it a try next season??

I'm a newbie this season, and I find it to be fun... as well as addicting!

Just out of curiosity, do you (as in central scouting) scout out division 2 and 3 college teams? or just division one?

They just rolled over for my team this evening.
- Chicago scored 3 goals on their first 4 shots
- the entire 3rd period seemed like it was played in the Nashville end
- and this Havlat dude can play when he wants to. Tonight he seemed to want to.

Just a regular Penguins puck with his signature

A shop around here has one for $90 but I don't know much about autographs.

It would likely go up in value over the years, correct?
