Hello all,

I'm going to the Senators game this weekend(Sat @ 7). I just have a couple of questions, I reside downtown(near Rideau Mall) and was wondering what the best time would be to leave downtown on Sat Dec 22nd, the game starts at 7.

Also, I know that Scotiabank Place is kind of located in an unusual area for an arena...my question is, what are some cool bars or restaurants near by that we can go to before or after the game?

Lastly, hows parking like at scotiabank place? Like price wise and number of spots, how long it takes to get out when the game is over etc.

I hope someone can help me out.

Thanks

There's a bar right next to the arena's box office. I haven't stepped foot in there, but I would assume that it's expensive as hell. Aside from that, there's really nothing around there except for a car dealership. You're better off heading over to McLaren's or Elgin Street Diner or some other bar downtown afterwards.

Parking's okay there even though there are some patches where there aren't any pavement. I paid $11 with loads of spots and we hung around the place for about 40 minutes after the game ended just for it to clear out (security won't mind you hanging out there afterwards) so we won't be wasting any gas just sitting there with the engine idling.

Go Leafs. Love your city, hate the team.

I just re-read the statement above...I love Ottawa the city, but I hate the Sens. I hate Toronto the city, but I love the Leafs. Just wanted to clear that up....lol

Parking is about $11 as previously mentioned :) As far as leaving goes, leave about an hour ahead of time, worse comes to worse you can wander around the arena for a bit.

The vault is out by Kanata, you can always go to O'Conners where the AMC is.

The arena itself is literally in the middle of nowhere-parking space is not an issue at all. You could head to one of the bars/restaurants in Kanata, but obviously Kanata is not noted for it's nightlife.
