cyrenaica, nice to see you. I had some fun one's yesterday. You read way to much into my first question....but now that I look at it, I can see how it could be amended.

Joe: You better watch out. Cyrenaica has such super brain-powers, he might telepathically crash your computer.

cyrenaica: I am not the hockey computer that you are. Remember I am a Florida girl. It is amazing that I know how to spell “hockey” living in this state.

Lity: Mr. Funny Pants. Do you have any idea how hard it is to have a good hockey conversation while attending a party Florida? I am so sick of having to dumb-down my conversations. This is a reenactment of a conversation I had about a month ago:
Friend: So, how are YOUR Lightning doing?
Me: They are not doing to hot. Vinny is kicking some butt, though.
Friend: He is pretty cute. Did you see they have a new billboard of him on Interstate 275?
Me: No, I didn't notice. (now chugging my drink, so that I can leave and get another)
Friend: Who were’s that other player, you know the short one.
Me: Martin St. Louis?
Friend: No, that um, Italian-looking fellow.
Me: Ah, Rob DiMaio?
Friend: No, Gram…..something.
Me: Ah, John Grahame?
Friend: No. Hmmmm, who was that.
Me: Martin Gramatica?
Friend: That’s it. Martin Gramatica!
Me: Sorry, but that WAS the kicker for the Bucs, look I got to go get another drink and take a leak. I catch up with you in a bit.

1. Harvey the Hound is a Calgary Flames original. he was the first mascot in the NHL and has worked double duty with the Calgary Flames and the Calgary Stampeders of the Canadian Football League for almost 24 years (he first debuted against the Pittsburgh Penguins on February 16, 1984. Lanny McDonald and Doug Risebrough both had 3 goal games as the Flames routed the Penguins 10-3). I know of no other NHL team that has had Harvey the Hound as a mascot.

2. Corey Sarich

3. Started by Greg Wing, supported by the alumni of the Calgary Flames

4. Lanny King McDonald (inducted in 1992)

5. Badger Bob Johnson's son Mark was a member of the 1980 American Ice Hockey contingent that miraculously (it's not called the Miracle on Ice for nothing) won the gold medal.

I got your email yesterday...but alas, it was too late. At least I know Gary Lupul was never a Philadelphia Flyer though ;)
