I was actually going to ask this earlier, because of a question I asked awhile ago in response to an NHL.com poll.

Here's the question: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AjyizLq3cJ3gJHEdsLPfVYbty6IX;_ylv=3?qid=20070806131550AAubx1v

Wow. How have some of those duos panned out? Lol.

Neidermeyer is returning, the ex-captain that helped lead them to the cup last year, are you ppl forgetting this. I could sit here and list many reasons why the ducks are an amazing team and yet no one seems to be willing to put their support behind them.

Everytime the ducks do something right, it is luck, everytime they fail, it is predestined. Make up your freaking mind and know that the ducks are the team to take the cup this year!!!!!

One last note: how can you badmouth a team just under the top ten!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Greatest NHL Duo in History. Does anyone else agree with me?

P.S. If you have never seen them play together then dont answer becuase you could not possible comprehend how absolutely amazing they are.

Game 6, Stanley Cup Final, Tampa Bay @ Calgary Flames

The puck deflected off of Martin Gelinas' skate and 'appeared' to cross the goal line, according to CBC and ABC slow motion replay. But because the play was never officially reviewed, it was a dead issue the moment the puck was dropped for the next faceoff.

Was it in?

Not like I would ever buy anything there anyway. But this seals the deal. For *ucks sake, give it a rest.

Question: did anyone else lose both Williams and Carcillo last night from their fantasy teams? That might explain some of my hostility today.

In the Christmas spirit, I have now asked two hockey/holiday questions. In that vain, think about the storied history of your favorite team. What holiday movie would closely describe your NHL team? Which players/coaches/management would make up the main characters of said story?

why to referees give out penalties during a playoff for example, the very last game that determines who wins , with about 9 minutes left on the clock....and for one player.....a total of perhaps.....100 minutes for one player.....now do those minutes carry on into the next season or something? if not....why cant the ref just give him the penalty enough til the end of a game

Which would you rather see in the NHL? A couple of teams win 8 of the next 10 Stanley Cups or a different team win every year for the next 10 years? Which is better for the NHL? Why? What would most fans prefer to see? Powerhouse teams or 30 teams within 10 points of each other all year?

I am not whining about officiating and I hate when people do. Last night though, I saw 2 of the strangest calls I have seen in some time.
The one I mentioned in an earlier post of a fight between Laraque and Chara where they both got 2 minutes for delay of game.
Then later in the evening, there was a bit of a brawl between Phx and SJ and everyone was kind of going nuts, Bernier punching while he still had his stick in his hand, Carcillo and Roenick going at it, then Carcillo skates away from Roenick and is the 3rd man in on Bernier, Roenick goes over and hauls him off of him and in the process, Carcillo's knee bent awkwardly. I know Roenick was not an aggressor, but he was scrapping and by the end, he was just playing mediator but he was still involved, yet he GOT NOTHING and Phx got the extra 5 for fighting. Even Roenick seemed shocked while on the bench that he was not in the box.
Therefore, they missed out on alot of fighting major calls last night.

I have center ice and the every time there are games on, the channels are messed up and telling me channel not in service. Some games work and others don't. I understand about the blackouts of games of your home teams. The other games should all work and they don't. I paid good money to see my Penguins and the cable company is screwing it all up. Is there anyone else who is having a problem with Center Ice. Just curious to see if its just here where I am from and cable company that I have or other people having the same fustrating problems.

I say Orr. That man could throw lead.

Coffee Friday, Folks!!! I am walking on Sunshine.....literally. Every few steps, I inadvertently click my heels together. Ramo for president!!!

Here are a few Friday goofy questions:

1) If Brian Gionta and Martin St. Louis got into a fight...the winner would be?

2) You visited you mother for Christmas (if she is not alive, sorry) and you find her having “relations” with a NHL player. Let say the ice skates are hanging on the doorknob. lol. What player would you prefer to come out of the bedroom, smoking a cigarette?

3) If you got into a really nasty bar fight, where bottles are being broken on the edge of the bar to be used as weapons......what dirty fighter of the NHL would you like to be your back-up?

4) If you were hired to be the new "organ player" at you local arena, would you play the same tunes, or would you throw some new musical numbers into the mix? I am feeling In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida would be appropriate.

Happy Friday, boys and girls!!!

On Leafs TV today, during the first intermission, they had a peter puck segment about icing and offside

(of course, the offside bit was a little inaccurate)

they are apparantly bringing him back, new and improved.

i never got to see Mr. Puck except for today, and it was pretty cool.

what do you think about him coming back?

I asked here on Yahoo answers, and in two other forums, getting over 30 answers. The statistics that people considered most important for goalies were winning percentage (15/30) and save percentage (9/30). A couple said total wins and only two save GAA (goals against average) - so it is obvious that to the people online these two stats are most important.

So ---- of the goalies who in the last 30 years have played at least 500 games (aproximately - we won't quibble) what goalie has the best winning percentage? What goalie has the best save percentage? They aren't the same guy.

Remember - these are the stats the overwhelming majority said were most important.
