I have two draft day regrets: Dan Boyle (3rd round) and Rob Blake (7th round). I thought I had a solid, point producing defensive corps. Boyle suffered a freak injury prior to the start of the season when a skate fell in his locker and sliced his wrist. The damage: extensive ligament damage requiring surgery. Then he proceeded to come back too early, played 2 games and went back on IR where he has remained all season. Blake just flat out stunk in the beginning of the season and I eventually released him. My best draft pick: Nikolai Zherdev in the 13th round who is still on my squad and productive from a fantasy standpoint.
My best acquisition: Nik Antropov as an undrafted free agent. He had been owned and dropped at least twice prior to my picking him up as well. He was not drafted while names such as Temmu Selanne, Al Montoya, Peter Forsberg and Rob Globke were.
Currently I stand at 5th in our league but things are extremely tight. With just 12 points separating 11 teams, the playoff births have and will change every week of the season. Currently there are 5 teams out of playoff contention trailing by just 3 points or less. This is my first time in an 18 team league. I like the fact that the secondary players can have as big of an impact as they do.

Fantasy hockey...
1. Why the heck did I draft Pierre-Marc Bouchard with a second round pick? That wise move was partly the reason why my team stunk for part of the season (I should have drafted a stellar goalie with that pick, but you live and learn). Leading into the second question, if it wasn't for...
2. Mike Richards was the best draft pick-up for me. Due to the lack of production from a pair of top shelf centers (Bouchard and Scott Gomez, who was later traded), I was screwed. However, Richards has stepped up not only for the Flyers (who thought highly enough of the youngster to name him an alternate captain AND reward him with a twelve year contract extension), but for my team as well!
3. I'm middle of the pack in our league. For a spell I was bringing up the rear with some questionable personnel decisions I made earlier in the season, but the play of Chris Osgood (who is a close second to best acquisition; picked him up in a trade for Josh Harding), Pavel Datsyuk, and others the past month have put me over .500.
E, fantasy hockey is about as addictive as...Tic Tacs (you thought I was going to say chocolate)!

Where do I start.........in our league I guess
1. Semin-injured and still hasn't found his form, Radulov- looks lazy still, Vishnovsky - horrible year -14, Weber- see Semin, Liles- not putting up near the numbers of last year and I thought he would break out with all those weapons in Colorado.
2. Cory Stillman- plucked of waivers after somebody dumped him after he missed the first couple games.
3. I'm 9th and falling like a lead ballon. I would be higher if we were playing roto, I have decent numbers.
My money league is working out MUCH better, my goaltending is suspect compared to everyone elses but I drafted Ovechkin, Zetterberg, and Stasny with my first 3 picks. Score! (only 8 teams in that league, so don't ask how the hell I got away with that)
Fantasy is so addicting you find yourself cheering for teams you hate, that is the part I find so damn funny. Never thought I would have cheered so hard for the Sharks to score last night, but my opponent has Giggy. Damn.
I really liked your team from the moment we drafted and knew you would do well. I took some of your players in my other league, if only we could get Bieksa healthy.........

1) I actually missed my draft (I think it was a music thing but anyways) but the people that weren't doing well were dropped.
2) Brad Boyes of St. Louis. I picked him up a couple of weeks in when he had 5 goals and now he has 19.
Add: Oh yeah, and Dany Heatley with his 20g, 22a, +27, 40 PIM, and 109 SOG. He was drafted when I wasn't looking.
3) I was first for a bit. I've dropped down to 5th but I plan on rebounding. It's looking good so far this week.

I guess Johnny can't read. And neither can Jane or Jim. Honestly, odd three people would do that at the same time..
As to fantasy.
No regrets except not getting a better number one goalie. Best draft Paul Stastny. Best pick up Dan Cleary. Currently second behind 2eighty8.
Talking smack is pretty fun too.
Yeah Sshue. I have Brunette on another team with Cheechoo as well. I was thinking of renaming the team the Underachievers.

I took Crosby with the #1 pick. Considering that my goaltending situation stinks, I wish I took Luongo.
I regret taking Turco. I regret taking Emery. I regret taking a late round flyer on Budaj.
Best acquisition was plucking Carcillo off of waivers. Went from 9th to 4th in PIMs. Most overlooked player in the Yahoo top 25. Granted he's a one-category guy, but considering my place in the PIM battle, i don't get any lost value from him.
Fourth. Very close to seventh. Nowhere near third.

1. Thomas Vanek (useless piece of sh!t).
2. My best acquisition was probably picking up Leclaire from FA and then trading him for Kovalchuk.
3. Well I have four teams:
The Russian Mafia: 11th out of 18. (head2head)
Mordovoroty: 2nd out of 12. (head2head)
The Cosmonauts: 4th out of 10. (rotisserie)
Let's Go Avs: 1st out of 10. (head2head)
As you can see, all the bad luck has been on the team that is in our league. All my other teams have been on fire since season's start.
~
288: If you don't like Sakic, I'll give you Horcoff for him (once Joe is off IR). Horcoff's been on fire dude, it'll be a great trade.
~~
Wait, what am I saying? Aaaah, it's 1 AM I'm not thinking straight. Noooo way I'm giving you Horcoff! I was thinking of Lupul, but I probably won't do that either. We'll just wait and see.

Since I'm in a hockey pool (what's this fantasy **** - hockey's REAL).
Anyway
1) I regret drafting Bryan Berard
2) My best acquisition was Henrik Zetterberg
3) I was in 2nd (out of 10) until Saturday.....now I'm in 5th
I've been in hockey pools since 1978, and the current group of guys I'm in with have been together since 1981.

I didn't draft any
My best acquisition probably has to be Zetterberg, Then Hudler. Phaneuf for a D-man, everyone else blows.
14 out of 18....And in the process of winning this weeks match-up against none other than you.
