I think the Ottawa Senators will win it this year. They are the second top team in the league right now. If they don't get hit with any injuries and continue playing the way they are right now, they will make it to the finals again.

Ottawa's got the offence but not the goaltending. Vancouver has the defence and goaltending but not the offence. I'd give Ottawa a 20% chance, Vancouver a 10% cahnce and Calgary a 5% chance, 1% for everyone else, so whats that? A 38% chance of a Canadian team winning by my reckoning.
But like sshueman said, one way or another a team full of Canadians is going to win it. Go Canucks!

Ottawa is the best bet but on the outside looking in are Vancouver and Calgary. However the Detroit Redwings are looking impressive as the odds on favorite to win it all, but of course , is an American team! Would be interesting to see a 7 game series between the Wings and Senators.

asserting that Ottawa could have a 'meltdown' in simple terms with the aid of fact of their recent music checklist is amazingly ignorant. that's like the asserting with the aid of fact the leafs have not gained a cup in 40 years, means they're going to in no way ever win back... ignorant no? Ottawa's team is developed quite lots interior the previous few seasons, and in the event that they did face the leafs interior the submit season this 12 months, they could have destroyed them. The leafs don't have lots going for them at present, jointly as Ottawa's intensity is frightening. i think of Ottawa has a sturdy a great gamble as the different team that still keeps to be. i think of they're flippantly matched by means of Buffalo, and that ought to make one hell of a convention very final. Rangers i detect they're in simple terms like a greater matured penguins team, extreme flying and crammed with organic objective scorers, and that they are giving the sabres a run for their funds. so they too could make a chilled convention very final. Sharks/Redwings/Anaheim... all of those communities are deadly, yet on account that I in no way get to computer screen all of them that frequently, i can not relatively remark on how nicely they play.

Only if Detroit is annexed to Windsor. Reasons for allowing this to happen? Better beer, lower drinking age and legal hookers. Then, a Canadien team will win the Stanley Cup.
Edit: Team full of Canadiens my @ss!! What about Swedes, Finns, Chechs, Russians and Ukrainians?

The only team that has a chance is the Ottawa Senators. They have the best three man punch in the league with Heatly, Spezza, and Alfreddson and can play great hockey. Forget Vancouver, they'll barely make the playoffs. The Flames and Oilers really aren't good enough and Toronto and Montreal suck.

Canadian players will win the cup for the Americans again unfortunately. Bring back the CUP to Canada where it belongs.

None of the Canadian teams are near good enough except Ottawa, and I couldn't fathom the thought of listenting to their fans if they actually won something. I'd proudly cheer on any of the other 5 teams though should they get close.

Doubts.
Anaheim will definitely not repeat.
I'm gonna soudn like a hater but Ottawa sucks.
Yes they are second in the league behind detroit, but you have to honetly lok at the entire picture.
Yes they've made the playoffs like every year, but what happens, they choke every year.
Last year was just a fluke that they made it to the finals and everyone rags on the Leafs for not making the playoffs..blah blah blah.
So ny ways I guess what Im trying to say is whats they point of making the playoffs if you can never bring home the bacon?
