With the All-Star game approaching it got me to wondering if you had a favorite event in the pre-all star challenge?I know some of you purists don't like it though.
(IE.MacInnis Slapshot or Bourque target shooting)

I think that the competition would be much more enjoyable if certain events involved one rep from each team in the league, that way you would get the real hardest shot and the real fastest skater.
Chad Kilger will never be an all-star, but I would have loved to see him uncork that 106.6mph slapshot on that stage.
I would have really liked to see how players like Draper and Marchant could have faired at the fastest skater in their prime at a leaguewide event.
Fastest skater would probably be my favorite event of all, but I would love to take away the asterisk beside the guys who win it every year. (*amongst the all-stars)

Yeah I totally agree with Zam. I would love to see the Avs' Kyle Cumiskey in the speed skating thing. He is the fastest player I have ever seen in my life and I've been watching hockey for 7 years now. But, sadly, he won't make it to the all-star game, he's a rookie and isn't that good yet. The NBA has it right, they had guys like Capono shooting 3s last year, Capono wasn't in the All-Star game, but he was allowed to participate in the skills challenges. Anyway, my favorite ones have to be with the goalies; the shootout and the 3 on 0.

The All Star game is somewhat like watching golf. You can actually have a party, and be able to watch the entire thing. I mildly enjoy all of the competitions, but if I had to pick, I would say it would be the slapshot.

I think the All-Star weekend is an unecessary bump in the schedule that we could do without.
Hell, I can think of better things to do at this very moment than watching Richard Jackman score in the Spengler Cup.....but hey, watching hockey is what I do.

I wanna see Chara in the speed competition..
Tie a chicken leg around the neck of Apollo Ohno, and Zdeno would be like a heat seeking missile...
Love the young stars game best...

They really don't interest me BUT about the only thing I would check on was how hard MacInnis fired his slapshot.
