I have a pretty good exercise bike (Life Cycle 9500HR)
I ride for 30 minutes and it seems it always reads out 10.80 miles. I started out on level 2, keeping the RPMs at 100-105= 10.80 miles. I recently have changed to the first 2 minutes warming up and keeping the RPMs at 75-85 and the last 2 minutes the same for a cool down, while minutes 3-28 are at 100-115 RPms. and still it shows 10.80 miles. How accurate do you think this is? Is there a simple way to know for sure how far I rode?

I found a new one for only $275! Should I call the store and have the hold it or should I go with a $550 Marlin GS (women's specific instead? If I get the Marlin, would I get the same size as was recommended when I looked at the Marlin GS? The store is quite a drive and I would have to call ahead to make sure they had the size I want.

A sudden back tire flat would not be so bad but what about a front front. That would get the blood pumping. What is the best technique to stay in control. Has any one had a high speed flat?

I would like to buy a good touring bicycle available with sensors similar to those on some exercise bikes that pick up your pulse from the hand-held grips, give you feedback on your heart rate, the calories you have burned, the distance you have covered and your average speed. Alternatively, is there a good quality and easy to fit add-on to my bicycle, perhaps one that includes satellite navigation?

I'm just curious - how many adults wear a bike helmet? I ride my bike on a gravel road and don't wear one. When I grew up no one wore bike helmets. My daughter wears her helmet and always says, "Safety first!" (she's 8)

I own 2 bicycles that have 27 inch wheel sets, what am I going to do when I need a new rim, or a new tires? Both bikes have nice lugged chrome-moly steel frames, and top of the line components for their time," the 1970's". Why did the bicycle industry change to 700cm wheels? 27inch wheels work just fine.

I just put money down on a Marlin GS. I am very excited but nervous because it is over $500! This will be the first bike I have owned that didn't come from a discount store such as Target or Walmart.

The only thing that concerns me about the bike is the small seat. After getting home I looked at my current bike and the seat is just a bit bigger. I'm 32 so I don't really want a granny seat but don't want a sore butt either.

Thanks for your help!
