Does anyone have instructions on how to mount a bike to the back of an SUV? I got a rack but lost the instructions and the box in which it came.

I want to buy a bike (my first since I was a kid) but need one that can fit into the trunk of a car, so that I can commute to work on the bike but catch a lift home. Do I need to buy a folding bike, or will a bike with a quick release front tire do the job?

The tire keeps hitting one of the brake pads at one spot of the tire. I already adjusted the brakes as far as they can go but it's not enough. I need to adjust the tire. I've heard that you can just cut out some of the spokes, but is that really a good idea?

i have a Deore hub laced 3x to a Mavic x223 disc rim. can i take out a few spokes and drop it down to a 28 or 24 spoke wheel? i like the way the low spoke count wheels look but dont have the $ to buy a set.

i only use this bike for XC trails and racing. i know i cant lace it like a real 24 or 28 spoke wheel, i just want to take some spokes out to give it the appearance. i dont want to compromise the strength of the rim alot though, so if its going to make it A LOT weaker, than its not worth it.

btw, i use hydro disc brakes.

He's already got a nice mountain bike but if we go downtown he doesn't want to leave it parked where pieces can get stolen. I want a midpriced large frame bike (I don't even know what sizes they come in) that is good for riding around with kids in bike seats... (I have a 1985 Schwinn Cruiser)
