most trainers come with a steel skewer to replace the one on your rear wheel/hub

they use the adjusters on the trainer to snugly grab the skewer

if that doesn't make any sense, go to your local bike shop and ask them to show you a bike in a trainer

The Bell Motivator is not to difficult to hook up. Replace your rear skwer with the one that's included. This avoid damaging your nice skwer and the ones that are included are often a better fit.

Place the rear of the bike in the stand and tighten both sides of the trainer around the rear skewer. Try to center the bike as much as possible. Once the bike is tight, turn the knob on the mag resistence unit to the right to engage the tire.

Presto.
