I disagree with the board here. Sealed bearings basically mean that dirt and water are unable to penetrate to the pedal bearings. Many of these are catridge type bearings that you can replace easily. In most cases these are preferable.

Sealed means the bearings are sealed in the pedal thus making sure no dirt and junk mess it up. Unsealed well is exposed.

Sealed usually will last longer and are better quality.

The difference between 'sealed' and 'unsealed' is that the 'sealed' bearings are covered by a cover and the bearings cannot be reached by water, grime, dirt, etc. Which means that they last longer. Unsealed bearings have no seal whatsoever and is more likely to be exposed to water, grime, dirt, etc. This means that the bearings will rust/corrode.

They are referring to sealed bearings or unsealed bearings. Unsealed is always better. It means dirt and grime will have a tougher time getting in the grease. Your pedals were turn smoother for a longer time.

I would say it is the same as being either a good person or a bad person. If you try to be the best that you can and help others if they need help or at least not intentionally hurt someone or their feelings, even if you don't go to church all the time, then you are a good catholic. If you do evil or bad and then "repent" then if you knew you were doing wrong and did it anyway then you are a bad catholic, even if you always repent and go to church and/or active in the church you are still bad
