My bike now ha a front fork that is the standard 1" theaded headset and I want to know what to look for to see if a 1 1/4 thread-less headset will be able to work with my bike?

Would I have to change the races / cups that are on the bike?

It has been three hours and two answers since I first posted this and from the answers so far it seems as though I can not put a 1 1/4 inch thrteadless fork on a bike made for a 1 inch steer tube fork.

This detail is to try and further clarify things if I can.

I am looking into buying a fork that is a 1 1/4 inch thread-less steeer tube and the one currently on my bike is a 1 inch threaded version.

What are the dimentions on the headtube on the bike for each type of fork or are they different.

A web site showing and/or describing the differences would be helpful.

The frame can fit a 1" not a 1-1/4"
Now if it was the other way around you might find an adapter. Look not to be abrupt but 1" is 1" for the frame...that is your option...1". Sorry but a Lefty or Cannondale fork is not an option for your bike, only a 1" will work.....Good luck and happy riding

Can a size 10 foot fit into a size 7 shoe?

No matter what you do, you will never fit anything but a 1" headset into your frame. You will also never fit any fork bigger than a 1" onto your bike.

A 1" head tube cannot fit anything larger than 1". This means that a 1 1/4" is too big, a 1 1/8" is too big, and a 1.5" is too big, since they are all larger than 1"

Short answer: no.

Long answer: There is pretty much nothing campatible about that combination unfortunately. The size of the headset refers to the diameter of the steerer tube on the bike. The races that affix to the fix will not fit. The crown race will not fit on the fork either. Sorry to say ,it's just the wrong part.

no.

with that fork, you need a 1" threaded headset. period.

if you buy a new fork, you can specify threaded or threadless, but it'll still be 1".
