Which one of these bikes is best for general suburban area use. Sidewalks and streets mostly, so I'm looking for comfort as well as the ability to use it for exercise. I've pretty much decided on these cheap bikes so please choose from them:

Huffy 26" Men’s Blackwater Comfort Bike -$80
Men’s Huffy Highland 18-Speed Road Bike - 26" -$90
Men’s Schwinn Cruiser Bike - 26" -$100

All can be found on Amazon if you need a picture.

Im wondering if there are any aftermarket carbon steerer tubes out there for MTB forks (suspension). I have seen some late model forks that come with carbon steerer tubes straight from the factory.

Is it still a developing idea or is it tried and trued?

This is probably a really basic repair question, but I don't know much about bikes.

My ten year old has a single speed bike. The chain has gotten a little loose so that you can see it sagging a little and it comes off sometimes, at which point I have to get it back on.

What causes this and how do I fix it?

She's had the bike for several years and it's always been fine before. The sprockets don't appear to be loose and the chain itself, based on it's construction doesn't seem like the kind of thing that can stretch or expand.

Thanks.

when im riding my 21 speed, the chain will come loose but does not come off my gears.this usually happens when i stop pedaling and the back tire is going moving the gears with it.somehow i got something stuck.also when changing gears the gears have a delayed reaction causing it to not catch and the pedal to simultaneously strike forward.

I'm cheap and looking to use one pair of shoes for both my ATB and my road bike. I don't have the shoes yet so any suggestions on that would be cool too.
Thanks.

I used to cycle as a child but not all that much really & was never as good as my brother was.
Over the past 2 months I've been practicing to cycle again as it's a healthy thing to do. I get really nervous & tend to panic a bit. I go over the park & practice sometimes & a little bit round the back streets where it's quiet. But whenever I go out on my bike I get really nervous & also I get a bit shaky. Like today I felt all shaky & do you think because I had a few drinks last night that would make me shaky today? I won't be drinking again the night before, but how can I build up my confidence in cycling & not being so nervous. Please give me some help on this because I want to become a good cyclist.
Please don't tell me off for drinking last night because I won't do that again.
Do you think I should take cycling lessons because my friend thinks I should. Thank you very much for helping me.
Teresa. xx
By the way, I'm in my early 50's.

I'm 16 years old and I looove mountain biking. I do track, so I have a lot of endurance and I have good muscles from gymnastics, which will help me a lot with my biking. I bike a lot but I just do it for fun-- I'd really like to compete in a race, but I've never done a biking race before. How can I start? Where can I find a local race? How do I figure out what ability level I should enter in? I know track helps a lot with training for biking, but what else can I do? We also weight train a lot--which is good because I don't do gymnastics anymore. Any answers are greatly appreciated :):)

Any comments/ratings for Cannondale Six 13 road bike? Is it really a good bike to ride? What other brands do you feel is better that that?

I already have a bike. Does it matter that it's a mountain bike and I'm biking in a city?

First off, what do I need to do to make sure my bike won't get me killed? It's been sitting in a shed for a couple years, but I refilled the tires and looked it over. I tested the brakes -first the smart way, then the stupid way- and they're fine, nothing's rusty, and I put some extra oil on the chain just to be safe. I could take it in for a tune-up, but that would run me at least $40 that I don't have. Second, what's the rule of thumb for bicycle seat height? I think I've outgrown my bike (I got it when I was 12 and now I'm 15 and about nine inches taller) but I want to be sure.

Third, do I need any special stuff? All I have is a bike with a water bottle holder and a helmet. I'm not looking in to serious racing or anything (yet) so do I need gloves or special shoes? How much would that cost, and could I fake it? I'm funding this myself so it has to be cheap.

Thanks in advance.

My thighs and bum are getting bigger from excessive cycling. How can I cut down? Don't tell me to stop. How should I cycle? Heavy or light gear more?
